Monday, May 16th, 2016 – Moving Day #5

Slept well and we both got up about 7:30am.  Teresa removed all of the water from the washing machine so it can be worked on.  It was obvious she’s done that before.

I made a trip to Exito where I picked up a box of cereal for our breakfast and a bag of dog food.

I took a nap from 9-10:30 while we waited for the repairman to arrive.  He arrived at 11am and soon had the washer fixed for 10mil (about $3.50).

I had lunch at Carbón de Leña and then brought fish back for Teresa.  She finally had the dining room table cleaned off and had washed most the towels and bed linen with the clothing left to be done.  She spread the washed articles on a sheet on the floor in the sun to dry.

We left the apartment at 2pm.

At the finca Leonardo arrived at 4pm and helped a little with the packing.  Teresa gave him 400,000 pesos for the work on the sideroad.  The truck driver arrived at 5:30 and we got the last few things loaded into the truck just before 7pm.  We got everything upstairs in the apartment by 8pm and I paid the driver 80mil.

Teresa is going to ask Leonardo if he will keep the dogs and we’ll pay him 70mil every month for their food.

I stopped at Exito and bought milk for tomorrow’s breakfast and then had a hamburger at Carbón de Leña.

T-shirt of the day: War is over.
