Today is the Labor Day holiday for those
of you still laboring back in the States.
I ran out of my new sleeping pills so
last night I had to substitute the old Isoklon sleeping pills. I fell asleep quickly and woke up at 4am as
usual. I think it took me about an hour
to fall back asleep and then the squawking parrots woke me at 7am and I got up
at 7:15.
I watched the first 20 minutes of the Today show and left for the gym. I did all my exercises in an hour and 50
minutes. Back at the apt I saw 3 men in Une uniforms working on the cables
outside our building. They were on the
pole closest to our entrance then they moved down the hill to 2 others. Thirty minutes later I saw them back up the
hill heading in the opposite direction but now they are out of sight so I have
no idea where they are.
About 2pm the sky got dark and I heard
some thunder. At 3pm a storm came
through but it only lasted about 15 minutes.
I left the apt at 3:30 and walked over to Carbon de Leña where I had a café con leche while sending a copy of
my health insurance payment to my broker.
I also got caught up on some other news and sports. Per the weather report on my cellphone the
high temperature the next 5 days or so will be between 79 and 81 which, despite
the rain, will feel cooler than usual.
I walked over to Todo Drogas where I bought my medicine and vitamins for the month
(or more) for 231,500 (about $74).
On the way back to the apt I stopped at
a health store (Calle 36 Sur #41-41) where I found 1000mg L-Arginine tablets
for 24,500. (In the future I won’t have
to order them from GNC.)
I stopped at the corner store and bought
3 bags of milk. Teresa called me and
asked me to stop at Exito and buy arepas.
Ha ha, she can be so funny sometimes.
Back at the apt - still no wifi!
I explained to Teresa my plan for next
Sunday night’s game between the Bears and the Packers. If we don’t have wifi I’ll be returning to Patrick’s Irish Pub in Parque
Lleras. If we do have wifi I want to
watch the game on the large screen – our TV.
If she needs to see her usual Septima
Dia program at 9pm she can go visit her mother. Sorry!
I finished the John Grisham paperback The King of Torts.
Today’s Step Count was 7,383.
Joke of the day
A
typical macho man marries a typical good-looking lady and after the wedding, he
laid down the following rules:
"I'll be home if I want, when I want and at what time I want - and I don't expect any hassle from you. I expect a great dinner to be on the table unless I tell you I won't be home for dinner. I'll go hunting, fishing, boozing and card-playing when I want with my buddies and don't you give me a hard time about it. Those are my rules. Do you have any comments?"
His new bride said, "No, that's fine with me. Just understand that there
will be sex here at seven o'clock every night... whether you're here or not."
