Last night I went to bed at 10pm, got up once at 3:30, took a while to fall back asleep, finally waking getting up at 6:45.

To J.W. (and my other readers) I briefly met Bob Burford with his son Carlos for coffee when he first moved here but I just looked and I couldn’t easily find my record of the meeting.

Teresa asked me to pick up a fish for her in Amazonias. I left the apt at 8:15 and walked to Mayorista. I stopped in Badia where I bought 12 boxes of chamomile tea for 130,800 pesos ($30). Outside at a small café

I ordered a latte and took a seat to solve a few more chess puzzles. I left at 10am and walked to Amazonia where I bought a fish for 44,160 pesos ($10).

I returned to the apt and noted my step counter registered 3,393 steps; sure felt like more!

I checked Cine Colombia and I don’t see anything I might be interested in.

Teresa returned at 11:30. She told me she and her gf had a cinnamon roll in IKEA and when can we go there for lunch. In time my dear, in time.

At 1:45 I took a Didi to the mall (I was too tired to walk). My driver spoke some English. He said he studies English on an app for 2 hours after work because it is the language of business.

I recycled a few bottles, printed my blood test results in Auros then went up to the banking area. I withdrew 2 million pesos at a good currency exchange rate of 4365. In Banco Villas I filled out a new deposit form then deposited the missing 91,244 pesos I shorted Alcala into their account (there was no line).

Downstairs in Urbania I texted Alcala a screenshot of my deposit receipt. I had a latte while doing a couple more puzzles. I left at 4pm and took the back way into Exito. They moved the sodas to a different location so I had to hunt for my 6-pack of Coke. It was a short line at the cashier and I took a taxi back to the apt.

My legs are feeling back to normal now.

I watched the news, switching between CNN and MSNBC.

With the Black pieces I checkmated ONEIPAMETATO1453 in 18 moves, increasing my rating to 1617, my highest ever.

  1. Terry, congrats on your new high ranking in the chess world. Thanks for the info on Burford.
I've had a cold since Monday. My meds seemed to help me, But today I feel worse than other day. So a lazy day in bed with my electric tea kettle in the master bathroom, along with some snacks and the meds. I will spend the day napping, reading, YouTubing, and a movie.

Trusting your day is better then mine,
    Jack W.
