The U.S. Embassy advises U.S. citizens that the city of Manizales has activated its emergency plan following flooding and landslides that caused a number of fatalities the night of April 18-19. Power is out in much of the city, which is located in Colombia’s popular coffee region.
U.S. citizens traveling to Manizales should consult with their hotel or tour operator about current conditions. U.S. citizens in the region should follow the instructions of Colombian authorities and should monitor news media. U.S. citizens needing assistance should contact the embassy.

You can schedule a non-emergency service by calling the Consular Agency.
