Last night I went to bed at 10pm, slept through the night, finally waking/getting up at 6:30am.
We left the apt at 8:30 and arrived at his building at 9:30.
Luckily, I found a parking spot on his block. After I parked, I got out and
checked all the nearby signs to make sure I was parked legally.
We met Jimmy with Murray outside his building in River North. Murray is a 12-year-old Plott Hound with its distinctive coloring.
He walked us a couple blocks away to the Breakfast House
where we had a nice breakfast.
Here’s a video of the elevated train that Chicago is noted for, taken from our breakfast table
Jimmy picked up the check while I was in the restroom. He guided us to the lake and we walked south on a nice multi-use path next to the lake.
We walked about 20 minutes south than returned to his
building and saw his apartment.
We said goodbye with plans to meet again before we return to
Colombia.
I was happy to see I didn’t get a parking ticket.
Teresa wanted ice cream so I drove us to Oberweis Dairy
again in Glenview. Today she ordered something different, a delicious Banana Royale
that we shared.
I drove us back to the apt and we rested for a while.
I thought we were going to a café for a while then go play
miniature golf again but when we reached the car Teresa said she was hungry.
We drove to Twin Dragon (Korean influenced Chinese restaurant)
where we shared spring rolls and a plate of chicken fried rice. I also had hot
tea for a total of $20.13 and I left $3 for a tip.
We drove to the Mango House Café, so close to our apt
we could almost walk to it, where I had a Taiwanese decaf latte for $6.04 while
Teresa worked on her latest purse project. It started pouring while we were
there and when it lessened, we made our escape back to the apt.
I texted my son about a trip to the Art Institute tomorrow
and he’ll probably meet up with us at some point.
