Happy Veterans Day!

I got up 3 times during the night, but luckily fell back asleep quickly each time.  I finally woke/got up at 8:30.

Teresa asked me what I wanted for breakfast and I said just scrambled eggs and coffee.  She soon learned we are out of liquid propane gas so she called a guy named Felipe and ordered a refill.  She told me the old canister lasted for 7 months.

At 10am Felipe showed up with a large canister of gas and I paid him 45mil.

10 minutes later Ramiro and his daughter showed up and continued working on the doors.

When I went to post yesterday’s events I noticed my posts for the last few days were missing so I had to post them again.

I reread last year’s end of year posts to see what it cost for my Pensionado Visa renewal last year and it was 1,180,000 pesos or approximately $621 and took about 3 weeks.  That included help from a lawyer and the 504 mil fee from Colombia for the actual visa.

At 12:30 we all had a nice lunch of a chicken leg with rice, Chinese salad and juice.

Laura came home at 1:30.

I got an email from Paypal that my debit card is about to expire and they want me to update my payment information.  Actually, I received my new debit card months ago and I haven’t used Paypal in a long time.  I tried to add my Miami MBE address online but it wouldn’t allow me to change the country from Colombia to the US.

It seems like it takes forever for Ramiro to put on each door but I appreciate that he’s careful about doing a good job.

Teresa has wanted to go back to Calle 44 in Laureles to retrieve 4 paintings she has left there.  She finally got in touch with someone there and she has to call back later to find out whether it is best for us to go there tomorrow or Thursday.  She did arrange to have Carlos move the paintings here for 80mil.

Teresa told me that she designed the closet.  Wow, I’m impressed!

They left at 5:30 still having to finish installing some doors on the 2nd level.  Also, Teresa doesn’t like the fit of the “backsplash” (sorry, I don’t know the correct technical term) that is above the 2nd level of shelves so I guess he will do it over.  Tomorrow we have to go to Laureles to pick up the paintings so Ramiro will come back Thursday morning to finish the job.

We also want to talk to him about adding stairs to the loft area although I told Teresa we should wait until January so I’m sure I will have enough money to pay for it.
Teresa and I watched more of The Terminal until 9pm when Teresa switched to the Colombian version of The Voice.

We went to bed at 10:15.
