Self-isolation Day 75.

Last night I went to bed at 10:30, got up twice during the night, woke up at 5am, took awhile to fall back asleep finally waking at 7am and getting up at 7:30.

Trump announced on Saturday that he intends to let Russia attend the next Group of Seven summit.  (Well, of course he does.)

Since 2014, Russia’s membership in the organization has been suspended in response to Vladimir Putin’s annexation of Crimea. That changed the name from the G8 Summit to the G7 Summit.

The announcement came from pool reporter Gabby Orr of Politico, who said Trump will also invite South Korea, Australia and India to the next summit, which he is postponing until September.

Since the beginning of this year, Florida has experienced an uptick in the number of pneumonia and influenza deaths, according to data from the Centers for Disease and Control. Experts and Trump administration officials responsible for keeping tabs on mortality rates across the country believe that many of those individuals had likely contracted and died from COVID-19.

Bob Anderson, the chief of the Mortality Statistics Branch in CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics, told The Daily Beast that the increase of deaths in Florida where pneumonia and influenza were the underlying cause was “statistically significant” and that those mortalities were “probably COVID cases that weren’t reported as such.”

I watched the first 3 seasons of The 100 with English subtitles. For some reason they aren’t available for the 4th season. That punctuates my hearing problem and how dependent I was on the subtitles. They are there in Spanish so maybe that will improve.

I had a 2-hour lesson with Juan Castro using Zoom. He’s going to send me some game positions to solve and we’re going to meet next Sunday at 3pm again. So far he hasn't asked me for any money.

Today Teresa beat me in parcheesi 4 games to 3.

I finished reading Lawrence Wright’s The End of October.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) said President Trump’s response to the protests breaking out in response to George Floyd’s death is the opposite of the message the White House should be sending.

“I think one of the most important things that a leader can do right now, and I went through this in 2015 during the riots in Baltimore, one of my primary focuses was to try to lower the temperature,” Hogan said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“And that's not helpful it's not lowering the temperature,” he said, referring to Trump’s tweets and comments in response to the protests. “It's sort of continuing to escalate the rhetoric. I think it's just the opposite of the message that should have been coming out of the White House.”

Lassen County in California was one of the first counties in the Golden State to reopen amid the coronavirus pandemic. But it will now close down.

Another cool day, I don’t think we even hit 80 degrees.

Another Trump replay from February 29th: The first confirmed death from the coronavirus is reported in the United States.  Trump: “Everything is really under control.”

The US has 1,752,499 ð 1,777,633 ð 1,789,246 coronavirus cases with 102,761 ð 103,769 ð 104,105 deaths.

Per Medellin Guru, as of this afternoon Colombia has a total of 26,688 ð 28,236 ð 29,383 cases with 939 deaths.  Medellin has 514 ð 516 ð 533 cases, an increase of 17 from May 30th to 31st. Looking at the 6-day averages Colombia’s curve is still accelerating.

Joke of the day

Corrine considered the colors (palest green, gray, and lavender) and texture (downy as the finest velvet) and wondered, “How long have these cold cuts been in my refrigerator?”
