Self-isolation Day 92.
Last night I went to bed
at 10:30, got up once at 12:30, again at 5:30am, finally waking/getting up at 7:30.
My back feels pretty
good this morning.
Last night I played 4 games
on Chess.com, winning 1 and losing 3. My rating is now down to 1340.
Teresa informed me that
Wilson probably won’t be able to hook up the water line. I told her Wilson can’t
take the old refrigerator until the new one is completely installed. That
should put a ‘sense of urgency’ into her.
I left the apt just
before 9am and walked past Parva and San Marcos Church, through
the little park to Calle 34?, down the hill to Avenida Las Vegas, north to the
gas station and back to the apt all in 30 minutes.
Medellin Guru reported “Medellin
had not experienced a big increase in cases like other cities until the past
few days. But the number of cases started increasing in Medellin and hit a peak
of 50 on June 15. So, we added Medellin to our list of problem cities.”
More rain in the morning
but just a light drizzle. At 11:30 it was barely 70 degrees but it cleared and warmed

Wilson delivered us

A woman in Texas has been
diagnosed with the new coronavirus for the second time in four months. "For the SECOND time in 12 weeks I have
contracted Covid19. Yes, you can get it again & it hit me like a ton of
bricks…again. I'm here to tell you this is NOT over, it is very real &
nothing to be flippant about. There are so many unknowns & the CDC cannot
tell whether the virus was dormant all this time or if it was a new
contraction. It is very different this time but no less horrendous," McKee
wrote in the post, tagging her location as Texas Health Presbyterian hospital
in Dallas.
As cases of the coronavirus in
Texas surpass 93,000, several reopened restaurants and bars in the Houston area
have been closed after some employees tested positive for the virus.
On
Tuesday, the state reported a record nearly
3,400 new cases, the highest daily case count since the outbreak began.
Tuesday's case count is double the 1,700 new infections reported Monday.
The total number of new cases reported in the last week
increased by nearly a third from the total reported the previous week. The
state saw around 15,500 new infections from June 10 to 16, a nearly 30 percent
jump from the 10,938 new infections reported from June 3 to 9, according to
data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
Data
indicate that the country has yet to quash the first wave of the virus — let alone a
second one. Florida, Texas, Arizona and Oklahoma are among
approximately a dozen states seeing a surge in cases and hospitalizations. From Phoenix to
Myrtle Beach, Houston to Orlando, restaurants are closing again; this time,
it’s not because owners fear that someone in their midst might catch the
coronavirus — it’s because they know that they already have.
And in
China, officials are moving rapidly to seal off Beijing — population 22
million — by canceling flights and trains amid growing fears that a second wave of covid-19 is gathering strength and could
spread to the rest of the country.

16th to 17th. Colombia has averaged 75 deaths daily over
the past 3 days. Colombia’s rolling 6-day average of new cases is increasing
now even faster than before. Medellin is now included in the 15 cities with the
most increasing cases. Envigado has a total of 52 cases, an increase of 2 from
June 15th to 16th.
