Last night I went to bed at 11pm, fell asleep quickly, got up at 2:30 (to pee), couldn’t fall back asleep, got up at 3:30, read until 4am, couldn’t fall asleep, got up at 4:45, went back to bed at 6:30 and slept until 8:30.
10 more days of this presidency.
I had a little cereal for
breakfast and went back to bed at 10:30. I only rested a bit before getting up
at 11:30.
I now have 4 correspondence
games going on and I’m feeling pretty compfortable so far with each of them.
Very strange that there
is almost no one on the street.
Well, we’ve finally got
a sunny day. The sun hit my desk by 4:15 and my seat by 4:45.
I watched the Chicago Bears
vs the New Orleans Saints game using my Amazon Firestick. (I also had the game
on NFL GamePass. I couldn’t believe all the commercial delays CBS had built
into their broadcast which put it behind the live broadcast.) At the half the
Bears were only down 7-3, which is better than I thought they would do. They
are still in the game, now if they could just score touchdowns when they are in
the red zone. The Bears ended up losing 21-9. I think Mitch Tribuskly showed
enough improvement that he will be signed to a 1-2 year contract and the GM and
head coach will be retained.
At 10:15 I stepped out
on the balcony and there was a steady rain but it had stopped by the time I went
to bed at 11pm.
Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Josh Hawley
(R-MO) are infuriating alumni and students of Yale and Harvard Law Schools,
where the men graduated with their law degrees.
The
Washington Post reported Sunday that more than 3,000 law school
former and current students are asking for the men to be disbarred for flagrant
"efforts to undermine
the peaceful transition of power after a free and fair election."
Both men spent the past several weeks advocating for the overthrow
of the 2020 Election, which is a violation of the Constitution that both men
swore an oath to "support and defend ... against all enemies, foreign and
domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same."
With a second
possible impeachment of President Donald Trump on the horizon, some Republicans
are saying the president's conduct in
egging on a mob that rioted at the Capitol Wednesday is worthy of impeachment
or removal. Others, however, say that taking action against the president
could inflame tensions further.
Carl Bernstein: This stain will cling to Donald Trump forever. Republican leaders need to constrain
Trump to prevent further damage to democracy.

Joke of
the day
"According
to a new survey, women say they feel more comfortable undressing in front of
men than they do undressing in front of other women. They say that women are
too judgmental, where, of course, men are just grateful." Robert De Niro.
