Several tourists were injured after a landslide in Piedra del Peñol, in Antioquia

According to statements made by Colonel Carlos Martínez, commander of the Antioquia Police in Blu Radio, There was a lateral fall in the stone that “generated a fall of material and caused injuries to fifteen tourists who were in the place”.
According to the information that has been obtained, The relief agencies that are attending to this emergency gave the order to evacuate people. All those who were visiting the stone were removed as a precaution.
“Please, we ask all people to evacuate. There is no access, at least for today, to the stone. All this is for security reasons. Please, if you are so kind, leave the place, there is no access to the stone”, that was what an officer who was in the area of the events said. Several tourists did their best to leave the site. This is because they did not want to expose their life or physical integrity in the place.
Of the 15 people who were injured by the lateral rock fall, six of them were treated at the same site. Nevertheless, The remaining nine were transferred to the nearest healthcare centers. This was so that they could be cared for in the best way and the wounds caused by the rock fall of El Peñol would be treated.
