Last night I went to bed at 10pm, fell asleep quickly and was awakened by alarm at 5am. Teresa was already up since 4am.

We finished the last of our packing and were downstairs by 6am for our pickup from Julian, Kelly’s son, in a nice van. He charged only 130mil but I gave him 150mil.

We quickly checked our bags, easy peasy, and ate sandwiches with coffee that Teresa had made. We went through the TSA check with no problem. At Immigration the e-ticket only had my info so I had to quickly add Teresa.

We arrived at our gate 2 hours before our scheduled takeoff. They soon changed the departure time to 10:30 then 11:30 then 12:30.

Teresa pointed out a guy with a long scraggily gray beard. I kiddingly told her that she would be sitting next to him on the plane.

We had lattes from Juan Valdez and she had an almojabana and I had a yogurt muffin with blueberries.

Finally we boarded our Avianca flight 220 about 12:15 and there were numerous empty seats; Teresa’s seat was next to the guy with the beard. I had the aisle seat and the two seats next to me were empty so after takeoff I invited he to come over and take the window seat but she declined.

The pilot apologized for the lateness, something about bad weather coming from Barranquilla.

I read some of my e-book and time passed quickly.

After landing we got our bags pretty quickly and put them through scanning machines. Outside the airport was chaos – lots of people in a small area. They certainly didn’t plan that well. Luckily, we didn’t have to wait outside we just went to the Barcelo counter and were soon guided outside to a van that took us to our hotel about 30 minutes away.

We checked in and were taken to our room, 2301, which stands for 2nd building, 3rd floor, room 01. One large building contains all the rooms, lobby, guest services, stores, buffet restaurant, etc. There are six specialty restaurants but so far we’ve only seen a couple.

I plugged the laptop into an outlet under the desk and turned it on but didn’t have the Wi-Fi password. We didn’t know if we were more hungry or tired. We had something to eat and then explored a little. There is a large pool, a children’s pool and a smaller pool. We checked out the beach but were disappointed there aren’t any cabanas. I got the Wi-Fi password but when I returned to the room I found my laptop battery had died as the outlet didn’t work.

There’s some confusion about the time. My cellphone upon arrival

Had a different time from Medellin.

We think we went to bed about 10pm.

JUST FUNNY
