Last night I went to bed at 10pm, fell asleep quickly and woke up at 6am.

We had breakfast in the buffet then headed out to the pool. As usual I’m hanging out mostly in the shade while Teresa moves in and out of the sun.

I figured out the time discrepancy. We’ve flown from US central time to eastern time. This didn’t happen last year because we arrived during daylight savings time so we were on the same time as eastern time.

I finally took my shower and we had lunch in the buffet.

We signed up for the 6:30pm early seating tonight for their Christmas Eve dinner.

We stopped at the Barcelo vacation assistance desk and scheduled our airport pickup for next Thursday at 11:30am for our 2:30 pm flight. We also signed up for a Friday day trip to their capital, Santo Domingo.

I considered the Jungle Buggies & Monkeys combo but I don’t know which Teresa was more afraid of, the Monkeys for my driving.

At 3pm we separated, she went back to the pool while I returned to our room to work on this blog.

We met up again at 4:30 and returned to our room. Even though Teresa brought “elegant” clothes for both of us she decided we’re not going to dress up much. (I tried to tell her.) We ended up dressing up anyway.

We arrived at dinner about 7pm for our 6:30 reservation. They had two guys on stilts walking the hallways, people dressed as elves, a choir singing Christmas carols. It was pretty cool.

In our fancy shoes the dining room floor was very slick. Teresa got some fruit then I got a few things and sat down. When I was ready for a second trip, she asked me to bring her gym shoes. I changed into my gym shoes also and brought hers. We saw a young girl (2-3?) fall and hit her head.

I told her I saw langostino (lobster) and she asked me to bring her one. I warned her I can’t tell a good lobster from a bad lobster. Luckily, a waitress was just replenishing the bowl and she chose two for me and put them on a plate. Teresa didn’t like them probably because they were on ice and she usually eats them hot.

We stopped at the front desk and I asked if they could change a $100 bill. The lady said maybe later.

We sat down in various locations finally finding a place with a nice breeze.

Back in our room, I turned off the air conditioning and turned on the ceiling fan and we went to bed at 10:45.

JUST FUNNY

  1. Terry, Merry Christmas. I thought about a trip for this season but did not do it. After spending ALL DAY with relatives I remembered why I should have done so.
    Enjoy your much deserved holiday,
