Self-isolation Day 111. (I sure hope sometime in the future I won’t be writing 222.)

Last night I went to bed at 10:30, fell asleep quickly and got up once at 4:30. That’s six hours but after 30 minutes trying to get back to sleep I finally gave up and got up.

Last night I played 4 games on Chess.com, winning 3 and losing 1. My rating is now 1291.

I left the apt just after 7am. I was dressed in gym clothes, the temperature was 66 degrees and my back felt good. I walked up past Otra Parte where I noticed they have a sign advertising food deliveries. The first three digits were 315, hopefully in time I’ll memorize the complete number. I continued south on Avenida Poblado to downtown. The plaza between Bancolombia and Exito was all torn up with a backhoe sitting in the middle. At Calle 37 Sur I turned right and walked down the hill to Avenida Las Vegas. I turned right and headed north. I ran into Teresa at 7:45 across from the mall. She told me to continue walking down Avenida Las Vegas. I told her that if you do too much one day you might be too tired to walk the next day; better to go step-by-step. I returned to the apt at 7:50 so it was a good initial 45-50 minute walk.

I took a nap from 10:30 to 11:30. Teresa had returned by the time I got up. She was a little frantic because she couldn’t find her Cedula, now all she has is a copy.

A federal judge ordered the shutdown of the Dakota Access Pipeline and it be emptied, while a lengthy environmental review is conducted.

Spain's large-scale study on the coronavirus indicates just 5% of its population has developed antibodies, strengthening evidence that a so-called herd immunity to Covid-19 is "unachievable," the medical journal the Lancet reported on Monday.

Yesterday, Manhattan's district attorney charged Amy Cooper with filing a false report. Cooper – a White woman – made headlines in May for calling the police on Christian Cooper – a Black man – who had asked her to leash her dog in Central Park. She said she would tell police an African American man was threatening her – and was filmed apparently going through with it. Now the DA's reminding her you're not supposed to call the police and lie to them. And wants to see her in court in October.

The White House claimed on Monday that the US has been “a leader” in the global fight against coronavirus, despite infections nationally now approaching 3m, with 130,000 deaths, and America recently witnessing the highest ever number of new daily cases reported in the world.

With the majority of US states reporting increases in new cases, the White House press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, said at a briefing on Monday afternoon: “I think the world is looking at us as a leader in Covid-19.”

The average age of new coronavirus patients has dropped by roughly 15 years compared with only a few months ago, White House health advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci said. While young people are less likely to develop serious illnesses from Covid-19, Fauci warned that the virus could still “put them out of action for weeks at a time.” Fauci said that the resurgence of cases in the U.S. is an extension of the outbreak first reported earlier this year, not a second wave.

(CNN)As coronavirus cases surge and governors begin agitating for a national mandate on wearing masks, President Donald Trump is showing few signs he'll budge on an issue that has come to epitomize a national pandemic response rooted in denial and which now threatens his political future.

Even most elected Republicans now openly advocate for wearing masks and have been pictured with their noses and mouths covered, in part to set an example for the country. But Trump still refuses to wear a mask in public, and most guests at his two July 4 celebrations -- at Mt. Rushmore and on the White House South Lawn -- were bare-faced.

"I think it ought to be a national, a national requirement," said New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press." A Democrat, Murphy has nonetheless maintained a cordial relationship with Trump and dined with him last month at the President's golf course in Bedminster.

Per Medellin Guru, the Antioquia government will make available free Covi-19 tests at 4 Medellin metro stations starting today.

On the afternoon news they showed a video of dozens of poor Colombians outside Cienaga, Magdalena with buckets taking fuel from an overturned fuel truck when it exploded, killing 7 and injuring 49. You could see police standing nearby but they didn’t prevent the crowd from trying to get to the free gas.

It poured in Sabaneta but here we just got a slight mist in the afternoon.

Teresa left at 1:45 to find or advertise or replace her Cedula. She called me an hour later and asked for our address.

Teresa called and asked what kind of ice cream she should buy at Jumbo in Santafe mall. She suggested macadamia but I asked for vanilla. I understand we’re going to have them on waffles, which to her means pancakes. Lol.

It started pouring at 5:30 before Teresa returned; hopefully she took a taxi and not the bus. Luckily the rain only lasted about 15 minutes.

Teresa returned at 6:30 with a notarized paper which I understand will allow her to get a new Cedula.

A Trump replay from April 13th, Trump: “Governors should have had ventilators. They chose not to have them.”

The US has 2,857,567 ð 2,902,359 ð 2,947,732 coronavirus cases with 129,567 ð 129,889  ð 130,199 deaths. (Total cases in the US are still increasing.)

Per Medellin Guru, as of this afternoon Colombia has a total of 113,389 ð 117,110 ð 120,281 cases with 4,210 deaths.  Medellin has 2,377 ð 2,522  ð 2,764 2,932 cases, an increase of 172 from July 4th to July 5th.  Envigado has a total of 124 cases, an increase of 4 from July 4th to July 5th.

Joke of the day

A Scottish lad and lass were sitting together on a heathery hill in the Highlands.

They had been silent for a while, then the lass said, "A penny for your thoughts."

The lad was a bit abashed, but he finally said, "Well, I was thinkin' how nice it would be if ye'd give me a wee bit of a kiss."

So she did so.

But he again lapsed into a pensive mood which lasted long enough for the lass to ask him, "What are ye thinkin' now?"

To which the lad replied: "Well, I was hopin' ye hadn't forgot the penny!"
