Last night I went to bed at 10:15, got up twice during the night, finally waking/getting up at 6:45.
Jack W: I have no idea if “no llorando y no peleando” is a
saying here, it’s just what I came up with at the moment and it’s COLOMBIA not
COLUMBIA!
Well, I checked this morning and DirecTV is working again. 😊
Didi couldn’t seem to find the address of my barber (same as
last time?) so I switched to Uber. We were almost there but transit police had
the last block closed off but I had no problem walking the last block to
Daniel’s barbershop. I got my usual haircut plus a manicure & pedicure from
a woman this time. I don’t know that she was better than the girl I had last
time but she was faster. I was out by 10:15 compared to 11:15 last time.
Teresa called and told me she wanted to go to El Tesoro and
we’ll have lunch there. Okay with me.
I walked across the street and from the back of a church to
the front where I ordered a Didi to take me to Todo Drogas.
I bought a couple things then walked 3 blocks to a tienda
naturista where I bought a bottle of magnesium capsules for 52,900 pesos.
I had to pee (should have stopped in Chuck’s Mart) so I quickly
walked to Ganso y Castor and used their restroom. Outside I had a latte
for about 30 minutes then stopped at the copy center where I had some pages
printed of our Des Plaines Airbnb apartment. I was back in the apt by 11:45.
Teresa informed me we’ll have lunch in the apt then go to El
Tesoro mall.
I drew a game vs ONEIPAMETATO1453 lowering my rating to
1571.
I’m kind of in a quandary, January 27th I could
have purchased our plane tickets for $1279 but I waited and now they’re up to
$1701. ☹ Do I buy now or hold on?
I’m gifting a bottle of my Joint Support supplements to
Esmeralda who has arthritis (and many other health issues). We’ll see if this
helps her.
I was showing Teresa my photos from our trip to Greece when
I stumbled on a number of El Arroyo signs and a few other comics that I had in
my cellphone. 😊
We were going to go to Gloria’s for pizza but it never
happened.
When Teresa found out tomorrow’s Superbowl doesn’t start
until late she wants to have lunch at the Peruvian restaurant Rocoto.
I finished watching the TV Mini Series The Madness (6.4)
on Netflix.
EL ARROYO
The route you have chosen to go to Chicago is going to be a difficult one to predict. United added the Medellin-Houston route last year in March. Now they’ve added a second flight (the one you’ve booked) starting in the Spring. Lots of unknowns (is that a pretty aggressive expansion of flights) and will, for flights to the US, Spirit survive or at least have routes to Medellin? My guess is that the earlier pricing you saw was United trying to fill out a new flight and now that they’ve got some level of bookings you are unlikely to return to those levels. With the difficulty Colombians have in getting US visas these days most of the travelers are going to be Americans coming and going from Colombia. Lots of travel $s in the US at the moment
