Last night I went to bed at 10pm, got up once at 1:15 (Laura was still out), finally waking/getting up at 5:30.
Jack W posted to my blog comments that he hopes to be moving
to Mexico within in the next 10 weeks and he plans to visit Medellin so
eventually we may meet. Hey Jack, how’s your Spanish coming along?
At 8pm I went next door and bought a large bag of Fab laundry
detergent and a long (sleeve?) of onion.
I left the apt at 9am and had a latte in Los Portenos
while updating my course notes for Next Level Training.
I left at 10:30 and returned to the apt.
I happened to step out on the balcony and saw Chris Cojeleas
walking toward the park. I checked online and Liverpool, his favorite team, is
playing Manchester United at 11:30 so I’m pretty sure he’s headed to Barrio
Sur to watch the match.
I had some lentil soup for my first course for lunch.
At 1pm I went down to Mercado Madrid and bought a few
things Teresa needed to make lunch most of which I couldn’t find in Ara.
It was at 1:45, during lunch, when I asked Teresa if Laura
was going to meet Vicky at the airport (for her 2:30 arrival). She said “no”,
because she’s been to Medellin before and she’ll take an airport taxi to our
apt.
Laura finally rose from the (sleeping) dead at 2pm.
Teresa and Laura “cleaned” the apartment putting things away
and making the bed. (Wondering where I’m sleeping tonight.)
At 3pm Laura’s Frisby order arrived.
At 3:30 Kelly arrived and started with Teresa getting a
massage.
About 4:30 Vickie arrived and she got in line for her
massage. 😊
I’m still watching videos and taking notes for my Next Level
Training chess course.
I watched more episodes of Your Honor on Netflix.
At 7:15 Laura ordered an Uber to take us to the restaurant Ritwal
high in the mountains. The car really struggled to get up the mountain with
the 5 of us (I’m including the driver). It seemed like the restaurant was in
the middle of nowhere but after going down some half circle steps we saw
different rooms built into the side of the hill, and what a view.
I thought the ribs might be too messy so I ordered a steak
and Teresa her favorite, salmon. Laura ordered a special drink…from my side of
the table it looked like a ceramic elephant’s head. The waiter poured in dry
ice then put her drink on top as a stopper and the “steam” from the dry ice
came out the trunk and ears.
My steak was okay, not chewy but had some fat (for flavor)
that I had to work around.
I charged my portion of the check which was 403,270 pesos
($98.88).
I had some problems getting an Uber but finally (10pm) I raised
the price enough (25,200 pesos) to get us a car back to our complex.
I immediately started my pre sleep routine and got to bed at
11:45pm.
