Last night I took my Diphenhydramine and Zopiclona tablets and went to bed at 10pm, waking/getting up at 5:30.
After breakfast I took a nap for an hour but didn’t sleep
until the last few minutes.
When I went to put ice in my thermos the ice maker wouldn’t
deposit ice. I forgot to deice it in December. ☹
Well, I’ll be doing that tonight so I took out the refrigerator manual to
remind me.
I left at 8:45 for Smartfit and just before crossing
the street a man comes up to me and asks me, in Spanish of course, where is
Clinica Las Americas. In Spanish I told him I’m a gringo but continue straight
ahead for one block and it’s at the stoplight. 😊
I found the gym as busy as usual but it seemed to lessen
around 9am. I saw Stacey come in for his 9am workout.
I’ve heard one young trainer there say “bye” so between
machines I asked her if she spoke English. She told me just a few words like
“good morning’ and “bye”. Well, that’s a start. After a few minutes she came
over and asked me some questions like where am I from and what parts of
Colombia have I visited. I completed my workout including 18 minutes on the
treadmill, finishing with a heart rate of 131bpm.
I walked over to Ganso y Castor and had a latte for
about 90 minutes, enjoying people watching with the music from the overhead
speaker. Teresa called and asked me to pick up a head of broccoli in Ara
on my way back to the apt. Finally, my new Capital One debit card arrived to my
ship forwarder in Miami. I won’t get into all the challenges I’ve had getting
that to happen. I contacted the lady in Bogota and asked her to release
everything from my locker. By the time I left the peanut was still in the crook
of the tree. ☹
I stopped in Ara but they didn’t have any broccoli.
Teresa wants to go to Santafe mall because she needs
something from Medipiel. I also need more skin cream from them and I need a new
swimsuit.
After lunch she needed to rest a bit.
I was about to post something I found from Bob Burford when I
lost the cursor on my computer. I thought I had more AA batteries but I couldn’t
find any in the usual spots.
I went to get ice for my glass of water but no ice would
come out. I checked and I should have deiced it back on December first but I forgot.
Finally about 3:30 Teresaa thought it was going to rain soon
and decided we weren’t going to Santafe so I left the apt, bought a pack of AA
batteries at the little store next to Asados Rogelio, paid the Movistar
bill in Gana and stopped for coffee at Los Porteños. I understand they
no longer have the large tin cups of coffee only a smaller size. Anyway, today
the coffee didn’t taste as good as previously.
About 4pm it started raining, soon became a downpour and I moved
inside where it was dryer. The rain finally stopped by 5:15 and I returned to
the apt.
I heard about ICE murdering a 37-year-old woman in
Minneapolis trying to escape in her car so I watched the news the rest of the
evening. We’ve got incompetent amateurs running the US federal government.
Just before I went to bed, I turned off the ice maker,
dumped the ice in the container and cleaned the ice chute.
My step count total for today was 5,644 steps.
FUNNY
