Last night I took my Diphenhydramine and Zopiclona tablets and went to bed at 10pm, got up once at 2am, finally waking/getting up at 6:30.
As usual for a Saturday, pancakes with blueberries and
pecans for breakfast. Yum!
I left the apt at 8:30 and had a latte in Ganso y Castor
for a couple hours. I talked NFL football with a Colombian in broken English. I
lost a game to chesswiz98, lowering my rating to 1528. It looks like Anna Cramling gained 45 points
in her recent tournament, increasing her rating to 1987.
Using ChatGPT I learned the young man with my exact name
that was killed in 1969 in Vietnam was from Morrisville, Missouri. I left just
before 11am and returned to the apt.
Teresa and I left the apt at 11:30 and walked to Parque
Envigado. A couple blocks east Teresa looked in a few stores for the tape she
uses to make her bracelets. She found what she wanted then stopped in another store
to buy nail polish.
Outside we quickly caught a taxi to Mayorca.
We had a nice lunch in Il Forno, skipping Crepes
& Waffles because it had a line outside.
Teresa stopped in a number of stores looking for something
for Laura. Finally, in Studio F she found some dresses to consider. She called
Laura and I held up the phone for about 20 minutes while Teresa showed her a
variety of dresses on a video call. Teresa paid for one dress for her and I paid
229,950 ($61.50) for the other.
We went down to the basement where I stopped in a currency
exchange to get some dollars for our Dominican Republic trip. (I’ll need them for
taxis and tips.) The rate was 3,800 pesos for a dollar but Teresa first had to
check with Alejandro to see if he could get us a better deal. In the meantime, I
was thinking even if he could get 3,700 pesos that difference for $100 would
only be something like $3 so it wasn’t worth the bother. Turns out his rate was
the same. I got $105 in 5s, 10, and 20s for 400,000 pesos. That gives me a total
of $169 in cash in small bills.
We quickly caught a taxi back to Envigado. We stopped in Ara
where Teresa picked up a package of arepas and a head of broccoli before
returning to the apt.
Back at the apt Teresa tried on one of dresses and it’s too
tight on her and she says she’s thinner than Laura. (That’s why you try things
on before you buy them.) I understand Teresa will be heading back to Mayorca
tomorrow.
I texted Glenn and we agreed to meet for breakfast tomorrow.
I watched another episode of Run Away (7.0) then watched
some news trying to kill time until the game starts at 8pm.
I settled down with my peanuts and Coke to watch Bears at
home vs Packers on NFL Game Pass (DAZN).
The Bears looked awful, didn’t seem to be able to stop big
plays against the Packers offense and were down 21-3 at halftime. ☹ The Bears defense
started coming alive in the 3rd quarter and the offense in the 4th
quarter and the Bears pulled off another incredible comeback to win 31-27. 😊
I went to bed around midnight.
RELEASE ALL THE EPSTEIN FILES!
My step count total for today was 3,914 steps.
FUNNY
