Again we were impressed with the food they served for breakfast.  (Breakfast is not included in the cost of the room at this hotel.)

On the metro we met a Marcos Kaseman a volunteer for Angeles de Medellin.  He’s been here 20 years working in the poorer neighborhoods of Medellin.  He mentioned when he came here the roads were protected by machine gun nests.  A lot of gringos volunteer to come to Medellin and work assisting the poor.  Some of us gave him a donation after hearing his story.  If anyone reading this wants learn more their website is www.angelesdemedellin.com and their Facebook group is Angeles de Medellin.

We took the metro to Acevedo station and transferred to the metro cable.  At Santa Domingo we paid our extra fee and transferred to the metro cable to Parque Arvi.

We shopped around the few kiosks that were set up by the entrance to the park.  I checked the park map closer and learned there is an area where they have obstacle courses with increasing levels of difficulty.  We’ll check that out another time.

We took a chiva bus to Parque Ecologico Piedras Blancas where we paid 5,000 pesos to gain entry.  We took the first rightmost path and after a 15 minute walk we were at hotel Piedras Blancas which afforded beautiful views of the lake.

I used one of the hotel bathrooms and for the first time in Colombia I saw a sink with a P-trap installed.  We had lunch at their restaurant - Vereda Piedras Blancas.
I had a hamburger and iced tea and Teresa had a beer followed by tomato soup, fish and a fresh juice.  We shared a large slice of tiramisu for dessert and our total came to 76,500 (about $28) including tip and tax.  Others had pepper steak, shrimp cocktail, hamburgers, and ice cream.  We all agreed it was the best meal we’ve had in Medellin thus far.

We didn’t see any of the hotel rooms but otherwise it looked like a very nice hotel.  I got a flyer with their room rates which also included their spa services like massages and chocolate therapy.

We walked to the zipline but it was closed.  Not sure if it’s because it’s a weekday or because the water level is so low on the lake.

We walked down to the lake and the suspension bridge took us to an insect museum but we didn’t have tickets.

We walked around the lake and stopped at one point to look at a sign on the cliff.  It took several seconds to realize that it was telling us we were standing in a dangerous place because of possible landslides.

Back at the entrance to the park we ran into the same 4 Colombian girls from yesterday.

We had another delicious dinner in the hotel.
