Self-isolation Day 95.

Last night I went to bed at 10:45, fell asleep quickly, got up once at 5:30, finally waking/getting up at 7:30. (The osteoarthritis in my back made it difficult to find a consistent sleeping position as I was aware of switching often.)

Last night I played 3 games on chess.com but we lost internet at 9:15 (we did have a little rain) at the end of my last game. (I had just blundered my queen anyway.) Now my rating is down to 1316.

Glenn and I exchanged texts and made tentative plans to meet at Aymará for coffee and sit in the adjacent park.

I left the apt at 9am and walked to the park next to Aymará. My back was a little stiff and there were rain drops so I didn’t go any further. I counted 14 benches in the park before returning to the apt. Teresa sent me nextdoor to Exito for something (she wrote it on a piece of paper) and I also picked up 3 bags of milk. (It wasn’t until later that I realized that today wasn’t my day to walk; it’s only supposed to be Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays.)

After a delicious lunch of lasagna and garlic bread I met Glenn at the park outside Aymará for coffee at 2:30. (It’s interesting that I don’t recall seeing ANY police in the past few weeks. Usually you see them riding around on their green motorcycles.) He left via Uber at 3:30. I called Teresa because I had forgotten my house keys. She was shopping in Viva Envigado with a girlfriend. I could have begged a ride from Glenn but I need the exercise so I walked to the mall and met her at the doorway to Arturo Calle. She gave me the keys and I returned to the apt.

She returned to the apt about 7pm and presented me with 4 new t-shirts from Arturo Calle. That was nice of her.

I walked out on the balcony about 8:45 and was surprised to see it pouring.

I received an email that the calendula flower extract I ordered has arrived in Florida.

The U.S reported some 30,000 new coronavirus cases on Friday, the highest number of daily infections recorded since May 1.

In California, which on Friday broke another record for the number of cases in a single day, Gov. Gavin Newsom mandated that masks be worn inside public spaces and in situations where staying six feet apart from others is not possible. But at least five sheriff’s departments in the state say they won’t enforce the order, in some cases citing the minor nature of the offense or a lack of resources.

Now that a judge has ruled John Bolton can publish his tell-all book, the man who elevated the filing of frivolous lawsuits into an art form is threatening to sue anyone who has the nerve to buy a copy of the juicy memoir.

Per the Washington Post “Since 2015, Trump, his business or the Republican Party have sued or threatened to sue MSNBC, NBC, the Associated Press, the Daily Beast, Univision, an anti-Trump T-shirt maker, authors Michael Wolff and David Cay Johnston, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R), former Ohio governor John Kasich (R), a Jeb Bush supporter, a super PAC, the Republican Party, sanctuary cities, former aide Steve Bannon, former Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid, the U.S. Golf Association, a 92-year-old widow in Scotland, the women who alleged he sexually assaulted them, the co-author of his own memoir, the Club for Growth, the Culinary Workers Union, the National Hispanic Media Coalition, the organizer of a “Dump Trump” campaign, the city of Minneapolis, and an artist who painted a nude of him.”

“Before that, he sued or threatened to sue the Los Angeles Times, USA Today, a Chicago Tribune architecture critic, Bill Maher, the now-deceased rapper Mac Miller, the Village Voice, ABC and the BBC, a random Twitter user, a woman critical of Trump University, a critic of his golf courses, a Miss USA contestant, Rosie O’Donnell, the Obama Justice Department, and the Onion.”

CNN came out with a devastating poll showing him trailing former Vice President Joe Biden in the 2020 campaign by a stunning 14-points.

Coronavirus has downgraded from a "tiger to a wild cat" and could die out on its own without a vaccine, an infectious diseases specialist has claimed.

Prof Matteo Bassetti, head of the infectious diseases clinic at the Policlinico San Martino hospital in Italy, told The Telegraph that Covid-19 has been losing its virulence in the last month and patients who would have previously died are now recovering.

Florida reported 4,049 new coronavirus cases on Saturday, shattering the record that had been set only the day before. The state also announced 44 people died in the last day, including a 17-year-old

With new cases skyrocketing and hospitalizations increasing, Florida hospitals are confronting a scary new trend: People entering hospitals without the symptoms of coronavirus they were showing a few months ago.

The fever check, a basic tool for screening for coronavirus, likely is not much value anymore, as the number of asymptomatic people rises by the day in Florida.

NFL players should avoid engaging in group workouts as COVID-19 cases are rising again in the United States, the medical director of the sport's players association said on Saturday.

At her girl friend’s recomendation we stayed up til 11pm watching 365 Days on Netflix.

A Trump replay from March 24th: Trump told Fox News that he wants the country opened up by Easter Sunday (April 12). “You will have packed churches all over our country, I think it would be a beautiful time and it is just about the timeline that I think is right. We’ve done more tests in eight days than South Korea has done in 8 weeks.”
