Self-isolation Day 85.

Last night I went to bed at 10:30, fell asleep quickly, got up 3 times during the night, finally waking/getting up at 7:30.

Last night I played 5 games on chess.com winning 3 and losing 2 increasing my blitz rating to 1306.

We planned on going to the mall this morning to buy the refrigerator, pay bills and purchase some things at Exito but Teresa has to wait for her medicine to be delivered.

I left the apt at 10:30 and walked to the mall. I entered Exito and made a withdrawal from the ATM. I printed some pages at Auros which is now open but you can’t use their computers because you aren’t allowed inside. I went back outside Exito, recycled a plastic pill bottle and paid for our cell phones and Direct TV at Baloto. I went into the mall itself and made another ATM withdrawal at Davivienda. There was no line at Bancolombia but I had to wait inside for 10-15 minutes for a cashier. I deposited cash in an account for one of Laura’s friends to repay her for the shoes she bought for Teresa, deposited cash into Juan Castro’s account to pay for the last 2 chess lessons, and cash into the account Angeles de Medellin to feed some of the poor in Medellin. I went back to Exito where I picked up a few things before returning by taxi to the apt returning at exactly noon.

Teresa looked at the medical records I printed and only one page was hers, there were 6 pages for other women.

I finished season 6 of The 100. There were some surprises but I found it difficult to follow the convulted plot.

Just before 2pm it started raining although it didn’t last long; I think we barely hit 76 degrees today. Because of the cold and rain we decided to delay buying the refrigerator today. We have two more opportunities before the sale is over – Friday and Sunday.

I started watching season 9 of The Walking Dead.

Teresa told me that Cartagena had 70 deaths today.

We’ve hit over 7,000,000 coronavirus cases worldwide and over 2,000,000 in the US.

Three big studies dim hopes that hydroxychloroquine can treat or prevent COVID-19.

Texas health authorities said there are currently 2,153 patients sickened with Covid-19 across its hospitals, marking the third-straight day of record-breaking coronavirus hospitalizations.

President Donald Trump's campaign is demanding CNN retract and apologize for a recent poll that showed him well behind presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

What do they mean when they say “defund the police”? It generally means cutting how much of a local budget goes to the police force. One study found that over the past few decades, state and local spending on police in the US has almost tripled - costing about $115 billion in 2017 - despite crime rates going down. The goal is to reallocate money to social services like housing, education, and mental health resources.

A former judge said the Justice Department was in the wrong in the Michael Flynn case. Specifically, when it filed a request to drop the charges against the former national security adviser. Reminder: Flynn was facing up to five years in prison for lying to the FBI about his contacts with a Russian diplomat during the Trump transition. But the DOJ said the convo was "appropriate" and that the FBI was out of bounds for interviewing him in the first place. Cue the judge calling for backup and asking a retired judge to weigh in on what to do here. Yesterday, the retired judge did just that. He accused the DOJ of "gross abuse of prosecutorial power" by pushing to drop the case. And urged the court to deny the request. Next up: an appeals panel holds a hearing tomorrow on whether to drop the case.

A second wave of coronavirus has struck some states weeks after reopening — with infection rates spiking in Florida, Texas and Arizona.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) voted to have a "significantly pared down convention" in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the U.S. topped 2 million on Thursday, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. The alarming new figure comes as many states begin to lift lockdown orders. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has also put out dire warnings about increasing infection numbers. A CDC report dated June 9 shows infection numbers in the U.S. increasing by 36 percent per day. The majority of other countries listed, including the United Kingdom, Italy, and Spain, enjoyed declining infection rates. Only Russia, Peru, and India’s infection numbers were growing, and even then by less than 5 percent. Health experts the world over have warned that the pandemic is far from finished, and some have even predicted another 100,000 Americans will die from it. More than 110,000 have died from the virus in the U.S.

Today I beat Teresa in parcheesi 4 games to 1.

For the past couple weeks Direct TV has been advertising the movie The Grey (6.8) so we watched it from 9:30 to 11:30.

A Trump replay from September 27th, 2017:Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'Get that son of a bitch off the field right now.’?”

A few who have now taken an opposing stand: NFL’s commissioner Roger Goodell, New Orleans Saints’ Drew Brees, National League MVP Joey Votto, Stanley Cup-winning goalie Braden Holtby, Washington Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo, Washington’s NFL coach Ron Rivera, and Michael Jordan.

The US has 1,969,787 ð 1,987,855 ð 2,007,773 coronavirus cases with 110,951 ð 112,123 ð 112,918 deaths.

Per Medellin Guru, as of this afternoon Colombia has a total of 40,719 ð 42,078 ð 43,682 cases with 1,433 deaths.  Medellin has 677 ð 712 ð 737 cases, an increase of 20 from to June 9th to 10th. Finally, for the first time the number of new daily cases decreased. Hopefully, this will continue.

Joke of the day

My granddaughter wanted a Cinderella themed party, so I invited all her friends over and made them clean my house.
