Self-isolation Day 88.
Last night I went to
bed at 9:30, fell asleep quickly, got up once at 5:30 (that’s 8 hours right there),
fell back asleep and woke/got up at 8am. Wow, do I feel good. I think the fresh
air with a little exercise helped a lot.
Teresa told me she’s
going to meet with a friend tomorrow for coffee and I told her I’m going to do
the same.
Teresa wanted to play
parcheesi again so I said “now that I know how to play the game how about we
start the game count over again?”. (She won the first round 124 to 102.) She
agreed and soon I was up 3 games to none. She throws the dice out of the dice cup
and only one falls out – a ‘1’. At this point she needed something higher so
before the 2nd one fell out she starts to pick up the first die and I
told her “no that’s her first, now throw the 2nd”. After I was up 5
games to 0 she got tired of losing and started complaining of the rules again
and finally quit.
For lunch and supper
she made pasta and I made garlic bread.
She talked to a friend
and then informed me that her friend doesn’t believe in the coronavirus. She
thinks it’s some plot by the president. She’s 70 years old and says goes out
without a mask and hasn’t caught anything.
For the third day in a row, Florida
broke its record for the greatest number of new COVID-19 cases—with a massive
spike. The state recorded 2,581 new diagnoses on Saturday—after tallying 1,902
cases on Friday and 1,698 cases on Thursday. It also reported 49 more deaths on
Saturday, pushing the state above the 3,000 mark. Gov. Ron DeSantis, who pushed
to move Florida into the second phase of reopening, has not publicly commented
on the latest grim news. But in previous days he has hammered away at the idea
that the increase is because of ramped-up testing, even though health officials
say that is not the only factor.
A Trump replay from March 13th: Jerry Falwell, Jr. on Fox &
Friends: “You know, impeachment didn’t work, and the Mueller report didn’t
work, and Article 25 didn’t work, and so maybe now this is their next, ah,
their next attempt to get Trump.”
The US has 2,031,494 ð 2,055,706 ð 2,082,921 coronavirus cases with 113,865
ð 114,662 ð 115,382 deaths.
Per
Medellin Guru, as of this afternoon Colombia has a total of 45,212 ð 46,858 ð 48,746 cases with 1,592 deaths. Medellin has 759 ð 787 ð 820 cases, an increase of 33 from June 12th
to 13th.
Joke of
the day
My friend
Garrick had the solution to forgetting his wife’s birthday and their wedding
anniversary: He opened an account with a local florist and provided it with
both dates as well as instructions to send flowers and a card signed “Your
loving husband, Garrick.”
For a few
years, it worked. Then one day Garrick
came home on their wedding anniversary.
He saw the flowers on the dining room table and said, “What nice
flowers. Where did you get them?”
