Last night I went to bed at 10pm, got up once during the night, finally waking/ getting up at 7am.
Teresa wants us to take her mother to El Tesoro this
afternoon.
Blue skies again today.
Jack W: I have to prepare myself for sticker shock.
I left the apt at 9am and walked to the mall. I recycled a
few items then printed my Tigo/Une router receipt and first Movistar
bill at Auros and headed upstairs. I arrived at Claro at 9:27 and
had to wait 3 minutes for them to open.
I paid our cellphone bills then took the back way into Exito.
After some wandering around, I found the Mexican salsa and vanilla extract,
paid for them, and walked across the street to Hobby’s House. It was 10 minutes
remaining before their grand opening and I joined the crowd of 1, me. At 10am
the gate was still down and no sign of anyone ready to open it. I googled it
again and it said it was open. Hah! I googled it again and this time found a
video of their interior and it appeared to be all children’s collectibles so I
left. Some day in the future when I’m in the area I’ll check it for decent
chess sets.
I was too tired to walk back to the apt so I crossed the
street and took a taxi back.
I told Teresa I was going to change from my shorts to pants
but she said it wasn’t necessary.
We left the apt at 11:30, took a Didi to pick up MT and then
on to El Tesoro mall. After getting out of the car MT felt a little dizzy so
each of us took an arm to support her. She felt better after a few minutes.
We had lunch in Natto Bowls which I found a little expensive at 220,048 pesos ($51.65). I had the Crispy Chicken wrap:
The ladies did some shopping in Zara then H&M
while I waited outside. I felt like I was right under the air conditioner and I
was freezing. Inside H&M wasn’t any better when I paid 285,000 pesos
($67) for 3 items Teresa wanted (including a gift for her mother).
We had lattes in Valentina’s and shared a couple cake
slices.
We left at 4pm and returned to Envigado by taxi (no wait).
Teresa modeled her new dress and it was much too big at the
waist. She showed me the price tag and it said it was an XS. She took in the waist
and modeled it again and it was better. She came back a few minutes later and
showed me the smaller tag attached to the dress and it’s an XL. No wonder it
didn’t look right.
A portero knocked on our door and delivered our epm bill of
390,336 pesos ($92).
I started watching the series Bodyguard (8.0) on
Netflix.
NOT SO FUNNY
