Last night I went to bed at 10pm, got up once during the night, finally waking at 5:30 and getting up with Teresa at 6:45am.
I arrived at Smartfit by 8:15; it wasn’t very busy
but I still had to wait for a couple machines. Daniel, one of the newer
instructors, asked me if I play chess, I said, “yes’ and he asked if I play in
the park and I said, “sometimes”. He said maybe we could play and I said,
“someday”. I was on the treadmill later when he looked my way and I held up my
cellphone showing a game-in-progress. He pointed it out to another instructor
who I assume plays chess also. I completed my workout including 16 minutes on
the treadmill.
While having a latte in Ganso y Castor I briefly met
3 ladies: 1 from New Jersey, 1 from Florida, and 1 from here (their Spanish
teacher, I believe).
I left at 10:15 and returned to the apt.
On my way up on the elevator I encountered a young lady with
2 backpacks. She spoke English, I think she was Colombian but recently from the
States, and she got off on the 2nd floor.
Teresa and I left at 11:45 and took a Didi to El Tesoro mall for 11,300 pesos. We had lunch in Crepes & Waffles for 70,550 pesos ($16.50).
Teresa exchanged her mis-tagged dress in H&M,
with difficulty she said.
Teresa said her mother told her she believes she’s going to
die soon. (If that’s what she believes, she’s probably right.)
We had lattes and a slice of cheesecake in Valentina café
while I read some of my chess notes and Teresa worked on her purse. I know she
wants to finish it before Wednesday’s class but she’s barely half finished.
We left at 4pm and returned to the apt by taxi (no wait) for
20,000 pesos.
This is our 4th day in a row with sun and no
rain. 😊
I’m caught up on the available Jack Reacher books (I
have a couple on hold) now I’m switching to James Patterson’s Alex Cross
series. I checked out a book that contains Volumes 1-3 but I’ve already read Along
Came a Spider & Kiss the Girls so I skipped ahead to Volume 3, Jack
& Jill.
