Last night I went to bed at 10pm, fell asleep quickly, got up once at 6am, finally waking/getting up at 6:45.
We left the apt at 9:30 and took a Didi to D’Andre
restaurant in Poblado. Teresa ordered the avocado toast and I the Big Breakfast
which includes eggs, hash browns, sausage and a pancake.
I loved my eggs and hash browns but the chorizo was just a small ground beef patty and my toast was thick and barely toasted. Which brings me to
Teresa’s breakfast: her toast was also too thick and wasn’t toasted and she
didn’t even like something about the avocado and onion that was on it so it
really didn’t work for her. I loved the whole wheat pancake that came with mine
but Teresa thought it was “too sweet” and that was before I drenched it in
syrup. We each had coffee (as expected it came with milk not cream) and the
total was 124,883 pesos ($30).
We debated what to do next:
Pergamino for coffee? It’s awful early for more
coffee.
Pueblito Paisa? Too crowded with the Flower Fair
going on.
Castle museum? We have to pay to get in and for what? We’ve
seen everything and all we’ll do is walk around a bit. Not to mention the extra
crowds there for the Flower Fair.
In the end we took a Didi to Santafe mall. We went down to Valentina’s
where Teresa had a chicken sandwich as she was still hungry from the poor
breakfast and I had a latte.
We had a long discussion about her mother’s health. Last
week, Teresa took her to an ENT specialist because her hearing is so bad. The
doctor told her there are some great new improvements in hearing aid technology
but when MT heard the millions of pesos it would cost, she rejected the idea.
(Teresa says she has the money she just doesn’t want to spend it.) My
suggestion was to contact the doctor and get the brand and model number he
recommends so if and when MT changes her mind Teresa will be ready to order it.
We left at 2pm and returned to the apt by taxi.
I had the other half of Teresa’s sandwich for lunch.
I finally got ChessBase 16 set up on my new computer but I
just discovered all the USB ports on my new computer are USB-C type, I don’t
have any type A. ☹ I
see on Amazon there’s a Type A to Type C connector that I’ll have to buy. I
wish I had known that yesterday when I was in Viva Envigado or even today when
we were in Santafe mall.
The baby pigeon appears to almost have sufficient plumage to
fly.
FUNNY
