Last night I went to bed at 10:30, fell asleep
quickly, got up twice times during the night, finally waking at 5am and getting
up at 6am.
Last night I played 4 games on Chess.com, winning 2, losing
1 and drawing 1. My rating is now 1482.
I watched the first 20 minutes of the Today
show then left for my walk. I followed my latest route returning to the apt at
10:25.
Teresa told me that we are going to be under
quarantine again in October. I asked her who told her that and she said her friend.
I asked her who told her friend and she said the president last Friday or
Saturday. I hope that’s not right.
Teresa left just at 10:30 for her 11am doctor’s appointment
in El Tesoro.
I was supposed to meet Glenn at Papa John’s at
12:30 then from there we were going to check out the restaurant in Sao Paolo.
By the time I was ready to leave it was raining. I told Glenn to meet me at Carulla
grocery store in Sao Paolo instead. I caught a taxi and arrived 10-15 minutes
late. To enter he led me around the side and down and past a number of small
stores to the parking garage and through that then we took an elevator up to
the 1st floor. (We ended up almost completing a circle as the
restaurant entrance was about 50’ in the other direction.) We finally chose a café/restaurant
where I had pasta with meat sauce and he had a shrimp salad. The rain stopped
by the time we finished eating. From there we went across the street to Euro
where we had coffee in their café.
When we parted I went into Euro where I picked
up a bag of sugar that Teresa requested. I walked back to the apt in bright
sunshine.
We got a little more rain in the afternoon.
Teresa returned about 5pm. Turns out that what she
thought was an 11am appointment was a 3pm appointment so she had to hang around
the mall for quite some time.
About 6pm she informs me she needs a container for a
urine sample. I told her where the nearest pharmacy is – on Avenida Poblado by
the gas station. She tried to get me to go get it for her. I told her she’s the
one whose dressed, not me. She then started suggesting places where we could have
supper before or after the pharmacy.
We finally agreed to walk to the pharmacy then take a
taxi to La Mesa for pizza at Antica Pizza. It was raining on and off
while we were out.
The Justice Department has
declared that New York, Seattle, and Portland are “anarchist” jurisdictions and
threatened them with a loss of federal funding, another escalation in the Trump

police brutality this summer.
Manhattan’s

have reopened most of their businesses, Anthony Fauci, MD, the country’s
leading immunologist and infectious disease specialist, has called out three
specific venues for having the highest risk of COVID-19 spread. Restaurants,
bars, and gyms.
