Last night I took Diphenhydramine and Zopiclona tablets and went to bed at 10pm, fell asleep quickly, finally waking/getting up with Teresa at 6am. I love it when I sleep through the night.
I left the apt at 9am and walked to the mall listening to my
iPod playing songs I haven’t heard in years. I recycled a couple small plastic
containers then walked diagonally through the underground parking lot toward Home
Center. When I arrived at the other side, I realized I was halfway between
floors. I was in sotano 1 (1st basement level) but Home Center’s 1st
floor, which I could see, was sotano 2 and their 2nd floor is piso 1
(1st floor) of the mall.
A security guard patrolling the area directed me to a nearby
elevator and I took it down to S2. There was no line in their office and I
explained the problem with the panini grill to a rep. Of course, I didn’t
understand her answer until I used the translator on my phone:
I told her that works for me and thanked her.
I retraced my steps and after waiting in a short line I
printed a page of chess notes in Auros.
I was still a little early for the 10am main mall stores
opening so I went to Urbania and had a latte.
I left at 11am and stopped in Louis Burton where I
tried on then purchased two long sleeve cotton shirts for Chicago for 190,400
pesos ($48).
I stopped in a sasteria (tailor shop) to have a pair of
shorts taken in that will be ready Tuesday afternoon for 25,000 pesos ($6.25).
In Chicago that would cost me $20 and I’d probably have to wait 2 weeks for the
repair.
In Exito I purchased bottles of soy and teriyaki
sauce (Teresa wants to try making chicken fried rice or teriyaki chicken) and a
6-pack of Coke (for future Bears games) and returned to the apt by taxi.
Teresa called at 12:30 to report she was still in the beauty
shop.
Oops, several people pointed out my mistake – the taxi ride
yesterday was 20,000 pesos not 200,000 pesos ☹ so I
fixed it.
I texted Teresa I would wait for her until 2pm before going
for lunch. I left at 2pm and had to wait about 15 minutes for a table at Asados
Rogelio. The order went smoothly except for some reason I chose mazzamora
for my drink. (It’s just niblet corn in cold milk; I don’t know why Colombians
think there’s something special about it.) Teresa called at 2:30 that she was
done and to meet at Eduardo Madrid.
After I finished eating and paid about 30,000 pesos I went
around the corner to Eduardo Madrid where Teresa was waiting for me. She
was hungry so she had what looked like a quiche
With the soup he said it was very good and why don’t we have
lunch there sometime?
I received an email that my small Amazon order has shipped,
this time to be delivered direct to our apt.
On the way back to the apt, we stopped in Ara and
bought a few groceries.
Because we both had lunch so late she cancelled our 6pm supper
with Kelly.
FUNNY
