Last night I took my Diphenhydramine and Zopiclona tablets, went to bed at 10pm, got up several times during the night, finally waking/getting up at 6:15.

Wanna move: Your birthday is on Halloween?

Teresa wants to have lunch out, specifically requesting La Tasca Campestre in Envigado. Once again, its located in Loma Del Escobero which means it’s up in the mountains with the challenge of getting there and returning. Not to mention it’s mainly seafood.

I was about to walk out the door when it dawned on me it’s the first of the month when I usually go to Viva Envigado to pay the first of the month bills. Oh well, it can wait until Tuesday.

I left the apt at 8:45 and walked the 7 blocks or so to Mundo Huevo where I purchased a large bottle of seasoning and a package of Brazil nut pieces.

I stopped in Ganso y Castor and had a latte and once again the squirrel got to my peanut without me noticing although I did see it when it returned looking for another.

I left at 10:45 and returned to the apt and Teresa announced we have no running water. Not sure how that affects our lunch plans. She also informed me the guy who rents our parking spot stopped by and paid 270,000 pesos for October, November and December.

Well, Teresa finally gave me the go ahead to repair our Maytag washing machine. Step one was easy, removing the fabric softener dispenser. It took a while to figure out that step 2, removing the inner cap, was actually attached to the dispenser so I completed steps 1 and 2 at the same time. Step 3 is unscrewing the bolt that holds the agitator in place. Checking the socket wrench set I bought, the manual wrench only works on the larger sizes and there’s just a hand wrench for the small sizes. I found an 11mm socket that seemed to fit perfectly but with just my hand I couldn’t get a strong enough grip on the handle. I got my vice grips from the basement and using that to turn it I broke the handle into pieces. Well, that’s the end of my DIY attempt.

I suggested Donde Albiero again for lunch. Well, Teresa wants to wait until the water is back on - 1pm? 2pm? Then take a shower before we head up to Donde Albiero, calle 36D sur #9-250. Sounds like it’s going to be a very late lunch.

We left the apt at 1pm and took a Didi to El Correo in Provenza for 14,900 pesos. I had the mixed plate with a piece of pork, chicken, and steak with a baked potato. (The beef was tasty but a little chewy, the chicken was good but the pork not so much.) Teresa had their chicken and we shared a bottle of water.

For dessert we shared a slice of carrot cake (maybe the best I’ve had in Medellin)

with a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream for a total of 232,613 pesos ($60), including tip. We weren’t in any hurry to leave but it got a little cloudy and cooler and Teresa thought it might start raining soon so we returned to the apt by Didi for 18,700 pesos.

The water came back on at 5pm and we both immediately brushed our teeth.

I finished watching season 3 of Designated Survivor. I often check on details of actors and I stumbled on the fact that the actor that plays guapo Aaron Shore, Adan Canto, died 18 months ago at the age of 42 from cancer of the appendix.

We haven’t had rain in a few days, maybe the rainy season is over?

I watched the movie A House of Dynamite (6.5) on Netflix.

Some nights I’ve been putting generic Neosporin on my shin wound and finally I asked google about it with this response

I put some Vaseline on it instead.

FUNNY
