Quarantine Day #150.

Last night I went to bed at 10:30pm and quickly fell asleep. I got up twice during the night and again at 6am, finally getting up at 7:15.

Last night I found some chess lessons on Chess.com and started to go through them. I played 4 games, winning 1 and losing 3. My rating has now fallen to 1201.

Teresa told me she was going to ask her friend to join her for a walk. I thought we were completely shut down Fri-Mon (Monday being a holiday) but we checked various sources and it appears we can go for a walk today.

I watched the first 20 minutes of the Today show then went for a 50-minute walk.

Teresa returned about 11am.

I had a 2-hour chess lesson with Juan Castro this afternoon.

I beat Teresa in parcheesi today 4 games to 3.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has been the institution Americans have consistently turned to for guidance throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. As the CDC regularly updates their recommendations and information surrounding the virus, most of us adjust accordingly. However, until recently, the CDC has not had much to say about one of the public's most burning questions: How long does COVID immunity last when you have antibodies? Now, the CDC says that individuals who have recovered from COVID-19 are safe from getting the virus again for up to three months.

The updated guidance on quarantine protocols in released at the beginning of August states: "People who have tested positive for COVID-19 do not need to quarantine or get tested again for up to three months as long as they do not develop symptoms again," implying some level of immunity during that period of time as a result of antibodies. And according to The New York Times, this is the first time the agency has officially acknowledged COVID-19 immunity could last for at least three months.

The US has 5,196,556 ð 5,253,529 ð 5,306,151 coronavirus cases with 165,400+ ð 166,900+ ð 168,100+ deaths.

Per Medellin Guru, as of this afternoon Colombia has a total of 422,519 ð 433,805 ð 445,111 cases with 14,492 deaths.  Medellin has 30,704 ð 31,654 ð 32,523 33,551 cases, an increase of 1,030 from August 13th to 14th. Envigado has a total of 1,848 cases, an increase of 47 from August 13th to 14th. Doesn’t appear we are leveling off.

Joke of the day

In 1900, fathers could count on children to join the family business.
Today, fathers pray their kids will come home from college long enough to teach them how to work the computer and their cellphones.
