Today is the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on New York’s Twin Towers.
Last night I took my Diphenhydramine and Zopiclona tablets
and went to bed at 10pm, got up once at 4am, didn’t fall deep asleep again,
finally waking/getting up at 6:15.
Teresa was gone, obviously she made her 6am gym class today.
Teresa returned at 7:15 and made breakfast.
After breakfast I returned to bed but couldn’t fall asleep
so I just got up 45 minutes later.
I checked to make sure my daughter was still at home and she
said she will be leaving soon for her weekly doctor’s appointment.
I met Marcos outside Tostao at 9:30 and we discussed
my granddaughter, the Charlie Kirk assassination, the Epstein situation, my
power cord problem and NFL football.
I shared with him that I found an American Airlines round
trip flight to Chicago for September 18th – 23rd for $328
but it doesn’t arrive until 5:30 in the afternoon so I’d miss the entire day.
He left at 10am and I soon moved to Peccato where I had a latte while studying my chess book. I received this short video from Jeannie:
Amazing! Does my granddaughter look like me?
I stopped at the $efecty store but as expected they don’t
take epm payments. I stopped at Mercado Madrid and bought a few
fresh groceries before returning to the apt.
I purchased an American Airline round-trip ticket to Chicago
on the 3rd try for 1,282,560 pesos ($341). 😊
They were cheap because I didn’t reserve any seats (which might have cost me
another $1000), there are 2 outbound layovers, and my Medellin flight leaves at
6am. ☹
I left the apt at 2:30 and printed the flight confirmation
at the Bancolombia kiosk and also paid the epm bill. (Now I know I don’t have
to go to Exito in Viva Envigado to pay it.)
I had something different in Los Portenos, a malteada de alfajor. Interesting, but mostly foam and nothing special.
I texted Carlos and made arrangements to be picked up next
Thursday morning at 2am for a ride to the airport.
I left at 5pm and returned to the apt.
It wasn’t long after I’d changed my clothes that Teresa told
me to get dressed again as Esmeralda is coming over. She arrived at 6pm and we
walked to Antonio’s gelato where I had a single scoop of strawberry and they
had coconut and shared a slice of cake.
I noticed a line across the street to get into a restaurant.
It was something about authentic Chinese food and tea.
We took out time, leaving about 7pm and while I knew the
ladies would sit in the porteria and talk for a few more hours (they did), I said
goodbye and returned to the apt.
I watched the first half of the Commanders vs Packers football
game.
I finished reading C.J. Box’s The Disappeared. It was
okay, nothing special.
I downloaded Past Tense (Jack Reacher #23). I mention
it here because my up-to-date book list is on the new computer.
I started reading my new book and found it was something different,
Capture or Kill by Vince Flynn. I read the prologue but couldn’t even
finish the first chapter and gave up.
Having nothing to read, I went to bed at 9:30.
FUNNY

Terry, thanks for another reason for me to appreciate being gay!!! I will never have to worry about getting away from a wife!!! I already realized the benefit of no kids, no possible child support!!
