Sunday, April 5, 2026

Last night I went to bed at 10pm, got up once at 12:30, again at 4:15, took a while to fall back asleep, finally waking/getting up at 7am.

Today is Easter but Orthodox Easter is next Sunday.

According to my Fitbit, I got in 5,472 steps yesterday but last night I slept for 1 hour and 7 minutes. What?

I returned the ice maker to the refrigerator and turned it back on.

A new Annie James photo with the Easter Bunny.

We left the apt at 9:15 and took a Didi to Crepes & Waffles in One Plaza for 10,400 pesos. (The driver had to drop us off at the corner because of Ciclovia.) The restaurant was busy but there were still a few tables, and Teresa chose one inside (they had a nice outdoor patio). They had a subset of their regular menu with just breakfast items.

Teresa ordered the avocado toast and queso momposino and I a waffle with maple syrup and a scrambled egg. We each had a latte for a total of 96,200 pesos ($26), tip included. When we left there was a moderately long line to get a table.

We walked up to Clinica Intermedica and quickly caught a taxi to El Tesoro mall. Teresa did some shopping in H&M with her gift cards and found a Greek looking pant suit and a simple cotton dress for 210,100 pesos ($57).

I couldn’t find Teresa’s requested restaurant, Olivia, so we had lunch for the first time in Aire.

She had the chicken lasagna and I their meat lasagna

and we shared a bottle of water for 110,024 pesos ($30).

Out in the aisle we took a seat on a comfortable sofa. My eyes were very tired so I squinched down on the seat and laid my head on the back and slept for about 30 minutes. My eyes felt much better after. (I checked my Fitbit app and now it says my sleep time for today is 5 hours and 55 minutes. Go figure!)

Teresa checked out Zara but didn’t find anything.

We stopped in Medipiel because they usually have weekend sales. My Cetaphil cream was 121,700 pesos but last time it was 80,000 something so today I took a pass. Teresa found four items, on sale, for 421,535 ($115).

We stopped in Valentina’s for a while and had lattes and a banana cream torta for 82mil.

There was no line for taxis and we quickly returned to the apt for 22,000 pesos.

Sometimes I forget my laptop has a touch screen and I go to remove a hair and the screen scrolls. 😊

I watched 60 Minutes on CBS Chicago, some news, then started my pre-sleep routine.
