Last night I took my Diphenhydramine and Zopiclona tablets, went to bed at 10pm, got up once at 12:15, finally waking/getting up at 6:15.
Today is a holiday here, Dia de Raices, the equivalent of
our Colombus Day or Indigenous Peoples Day.
I left the apt at 8:30 and found Smartfit less busy
than usual. Since I was starting a new line in my notebook, I doubled the
incline on the treadmill (2% up from 1%) and added 5# to the Abdominal Crunch,
Biceps Curl, Shoulder Press, and Back Extension without any problem. I didn’t
see any personal trainers today so I assume they all had the day off.
While having a latte in Ganso y Castor I heard their music
system play Elvis’ Good Luck Charm, another 45rpm record I remember
having when I was a teenager. (Strangely I recall having multiple copies of it,
not sure how that happened.)
I left at 10:15 in a few raindrops so I decided to skip my
stop in Eduardo Madrid for bagels. Good decision because by the time I
reached our apt complex it was a steady drizzle.
Teresa was still home as I headed straight for the shower.
As I was getting out of the shower, she told me the rain had stopped and she
had an 11am appointment at the beauty shop. She’ll call me later as to when and
where we’ll meet for lunch.
I spent some time organizing photos on my laptop.
Teresa called at 1pm and asked me to meet her for lunch at
the Peruvian buffet in La Buena Mesa. I got dressed and arrived at Kusi
a couple minutes before she did. We both had the buffet; I had a mango juice
and Teresa had a bottle of water and the check came to 114,300 pesos ($29).
Teresa informed me she has a mammogram appointment late
tomorrow afternoon so I guess I won’t be seeing that movie tomorrow after all.
Teresa wanted to go to a café across from San Marcos church
but after we walked 10 yards, she suggested Eduardo Madrid instead. I
needrf bagels anyway so I agreed. We walked around the corner and quickly saw
it was closed. (They’re always closed Sundays and holidays.)
We were walking past Parva when she suggested we go there instead.
(I haven’t had coffee there since they stained my shorts with
bleach a year or two ago.) We each had a latte and shared a slice of red velvet
cake.
The skies cleared and we certainly no longer needed the
jackets we were carrying.
We left and walking through the park (La Buena Mesa)
Teresa remarked how cool it was and we had to sit at one of their concrete
tables for a few minutes.
When we left, we stopped in Ara and picked up a few
groceries before returning to the apt.
Tonight I defrosted the ice maker which I try to remember to
do every two months.
Teresa challenged me to perform the chair test. I had to sit
on a kitchen chair then get up without using my hands for assistance. I demonstrated
I could do that then showed her the advanced version of that where you sit then
get up and down five times quickly. A piece of cake … so far.
I sat down with my individual bag of salted-in-the-shell
peanuts and Coke to watch the Bears game. (The peanuts don’t taste as fresh but
at least they aren’t stale…yet.) Luckily the Bears got 3 takeaways against the
Washington Commanders and won on a last second field goal 25-24.
I finally got to bed at 10:45.
FUNNY
