Last night I took my Diphenhydramine and Zopiclona tablets and went to bed at 10pm, got up once during the night, finally waking/getting up at 6:30.
Teresa decided, to celebrate our birthdays, she’d rather we
go for lunch instead of supper so she wouldn’t have to get all dressed up. Fine
with me!
I left the apt at 9am and stopped at the Bancolombia kiosk to pay for Medellin TV but found it closed with this sign:
I went to Gana and paid the Movistar bill of 63,559
pesos.
I continued on to a surprisingly not busy Los Portenos
where I had a latte. After talking to Laura and checking with ChatGPT, I have a
new plan. With Teresa’s help, we’ll stay in a pueblo for the holidays. In
January, we’ll stay at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace Hotel for whatever 10 nights
are cheapest for that month. Laura will stay in our room for 6-7 of those 10
nights. She’s going to call the hotel to see if there would be a problem adding
her to our room.
My son sent me this photo of the first tribal license plate he’s ever seen – Kiowa.
After lunch Teresa suggested we go to Pricesmart and
pick up some groceries, most importantly turkey breasts.
At 1:25 we were ready to walk out the door when…is that thunder we heard? We grabbed out coats and as we were getting into our Didi it started raining. We encountered flooded streets several times on our way to Provenza. When we got out of the car, the rain had stopped but when we entered El Correo the lights were off. ☹ Yep, they had no electricity. Teresa suggested we go to the Peruvian restaurant that she knew was nearby. I don’t know why she thought it would have electricity when none of the other nearby restaurants did. We walked the two blocks to Rocotto and found it had no lights either. While we were trying to decide where to go next – I suggested we return to La Buena Mesa – the lights came on. We got a table and she ordered her usual salmon and I tried their ribs.
She loved her salmon with vegetables. I liked my Peruvian
style potatoes but the ribs had a slightly spicy dry rub and I was missing my
BBQ sauce. I ate all the potatoes and two of the ribs and got four ribs to go
that I can have tonight with BBQ sauce. 😊
With two Cokes the total check came to 179,950 pesos ($46).
Teresa suggested we postpone our trip to Pricesmart
until Monday as she needs to go to Clinica Las Americas and get an appointment
for her annual mammography.
We returned to the apt by Didi.
I finally found my Airbnb payment, so, it appears our June
15th to July 15th trip cost:
$2019.43 – Airbnb
$1401.42 – United Airlines
$2823.13 – Budget (Toyota Corolla)
$2016.14 – USAA charges
$3902.51 – Capital One charges
For a grand total of…$12,162.63. Wow!
I’m now going to run my battery down so I can do a complete
recharge.
I started watching Designated Survivor (7.4) again on
Netflix.
FUNNY
