Self-isolation Day 29.

Tax Day!  Not!

Last night I went to bed at 10:30, got up twice during the night, again at 6:15 finally getting up at 7:30.

My back feels good again this morning.

Yesterday the US recorded its highest death count with 2,405 after several days when the death toll was flat or had declined, bringing the death total to 26,033.

Teresa called a grocery store to have eggs delivered and I understood they didn’t have any but I don’t know if that is a temporary situation.

I watched the first hour of the Today show then took my shower.  Now when I get out with damp hair I try to stand my hair up on end and cut off a quarter inch or so.  I left the apt at 10am and walked to the mall.  I asked a security guard if Mr. Kutz was open.  No.  I asked where I could get a haircut in Envigado and he said all barber shops are all closed.  I asked if Home Center was open and he said No I have to order online.  (Only problem is its probably in Spanish and I would have to pay with a Colombian credit card.)

There was no line as I entered Exito.  I waited in line for about 20 minutes to pay the epm utility bill. I asked the cashier if I could pay my Claro bill there (knowing I couldn’t).  My follow up question was where could I go to pay it.  I didn’t understand her answer until she wrote down Baloto.  The side door to Baloto was closed so I had to walk back to the entrance and back to the side entrance to Baloto.  As usual I showed the cashier Teresa’s and my cell phone numbers but she apparently needed more information.  I asked if I returned with the previous month’s receipt would that be sufficient but I didn’t understand her reply.  I asked her to write down her telephone number so I could have Teresa call her for an explanation.

Now there was a line to enter Exito.  The wait was about 20 minutes.  I picked up a few things then took a taxi back to the apt.

Tim Morrison, a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute and former senior director for counterproliferation and biodefense on the National Security Council, stated on March 16th that the president and John Bolton did not “dissolve” the pandemic response office but they shrunk the NSC staff and consolidated it into the counterproliferation and biodefense directorate.

Yesterday Trump said the World Health Organization should have called out China for its "lack of transparency" when Trump himself on January 24th said, “China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus.  The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency.  It will all work out well.  In particular, on behalf of the American people, I want to thank President Xi!”

Teresa managed, calling from her phone, to get her account code from Claro but not mine.  I’m not returning just to pay for hers so I’m not sure what’s going to happen now.

At 4pm a downpour started and it rained a good part of the rest of the evening.

Washington Post: “We’ve never backed a Democrat for president.  But Trump must be defeated.”

In a moment of inspiration I looked at Teresa’s previous Claro receipt and found the code numbers she was given today.  Using that I figured out what my code numbers are.  Now, hopefully on Saturday Baloto can find out how much I owe.
