Self-isolation Day 41.

Last night I went to bed at 10:30, got up once during the night, finally waking/getting up at 8am.

Per the Today show, the US has 972,361 coronavirus cases with 54,941 deaths.

I watched the first hour of the Today show then left the apt at 10:15. In the elevator was a schedule of the pico y cedula for the next 2 weeks.  Besides today, I can go out next Saturday and the following Wednesday. Next door at Exito I couldn’t find any of the groceries on my list so I left with just a loaf of bread.  I dropped that off at the apt, picked up my recyclable bag and walked to the mall.  Passing the bus stop workers were painting lines on the sidewalk about 3’ apart.  At Exito I found most things on my list and I returned to the apt in a taxi at 11:15.

I have known for a while that we should have bought a larger refrigerator 4 years ago.  Today Teresa suggested we move our current fridge to the finca or “sell” it to her mother so we can buy a larger one.  I’ll check prices at Exito next Saturday when it’s my next time out.

The chief physician overseeing the Veterans Health Administration acknowledged that the Trump administration redirected a shipment of their masks to the US national stockpile.

In the evening I watched episodes 3 & 4 of The Last Dance on Netflix.

Washington Post: “U.S. intelligence agencies issued warnings about the novel coronavirus in more than a dozen of Trump’s PDFs (President’s Daily Brief) in January and February, months during which he continued to play down the threat, according to current and former U.S. officials.”

I bought The Great Influenza as a Nook book and was only charged $1.99.  Incredible.

The Colombian news changed their coronavirus reporting again.  Colombia has 4,134 cases with 3,739 recovering at home, 278 hospitalized and 117 in ICU.

The novel coronavirus has infected more than 988,000 people in the U.S., per Johns Hopkins.

Joke of the day

My buddy asked if he could crash on my couch tonight.  I had to explain to him I’m married now, and that’s where I sleep.
