Self-isolation Day 43.

Last night I went to bed at 10:30, got up once during the night, finally waking at 6:30 and getting up at 7:15.

Per the Today show the US has 1,018,162 cases with 58,671 deaths.

I bought IM Mat Kolosowski’s Attacking Masterclass video training for $49 then I watched Chapter 4 – Right timing is the key.

I’ve been watching a lot of movies to kill time.

Per the Washington Post dogs are being trained to sniff out coronavirus cases.

I occasionally get phone calls from Claro or Une trying to get me to switch to their 3-in-1 service: phone, television and wifi.  I am happy having separate services (the best) for each so I started saving their phone numbers as Wrong Numbers.  For example, the last few days I’ve gotten a few calls from Wrong Number #3 so I just immediately disconnect.  Lol.

President Donald Trump says the U.S. will “very soon” run 5 million tests per day.   There’s “no way on Earth” the U.S. can run 5 million coronavirus tests per day, the top testing official said in an interview Tuesday morning. The U.S. will be able to test 8 million per month by May, Assistant Secretary for Health admiral Giroir told Time.

Evangelicals who defied social distancing guidelines are dying of coronavirus in frightening numbers.  Journalist Alex Woodward, in the U.K.-based Independent, reported that the pandemic has claimed the lives of more than 30 pastors in the Bible Belt.

White House senior adviser Jared Kushner on Fox & FriendsWe’re on the other side of the medical aspect of this. I think that we’ve achieved all the different milestones that are needed. So the federal government rose to the challenge, and this is a great success story, and I think that’s really what needs to be told.”

Protests against individual state shelter-at-home orders have drawn widespread media coverage throughout the country, however it seems those pushing for lifting such order represent a small minority of Americans. Polls have consistently shown that the majority of people in the US do not want to relax social distancing guidelines or lift shelter-at-home orders until more is done to combat the effects of Covid-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

The drug Remdesivir seems to shorten covid hospital stays and may save lives.

The Daily Beast reported that the White House is now selling $100 commemorative COVID-19 coins, emblazoned with phrases such as “World vs The Unseen Enemy” and “Everyday HEROES Suited Up.”

The COVID-19 crisis in Wisconsin food processing plants continues to intensify, with more than 100 workers at a Darien facility testing positive for the virus and an employee at a Pleasant Prairie plant dying from the illness.

If I understood the evening news correctly, Brazil now has more deaths than China.

Per the Johns Hopkins website, the US has more than 1,038,000 cases.  Also, there have been over 60,000 deaths and the U.S. economy shrank 4.8% in the first quarter.

Joke of the day

The 6th-grade science teacher, Mrs. Parks, asked her class, "Which human body part increases to ten times its size when stimulated?"

No one answered until little Mary stood up and said, "You should not be asking sixth-graders a question like that! I'm going to tell my parents, and they will go and tell the principal, who will then fire you!"

Mrs. Parks ignored her and asked the question again, "Which body part increases 10 times its size when stimulated?"

Little Mary's mouth fell open. Then she said to those around her, "Boy, is she going to get in big trouble!"

The teacher continued to ignore her and said to the class, "Anybody?"

Finally, Billy stood up, looked around nervously, and said, "The body part that increases 10 times its size when stimulated is the pupil of the eye."

Mrs. Parks said, "Very good, Billy," then turned to Mary and
continued.

"As for you, young lady, I have three things to say: One, you have a dirty mind. Two, you didn't read your homework. And three, some day you are going to be very, very disappointed."

  1. Terry, I thought you might find this of interest. It is an article from the Economist magazine concerning financially troubled nations. Colombia is in the middle of the pact. I am not sure what that means for their currency, but I would think it would not lead to a recovery of the Peso. But more devaluation?? I don't know.
