Last night I went to bed at 10pm, got up once at 3:15, finally waking/getting up by alarm at 6:30.
According to my Fitbit, I got in 4,205 steps yesterday and
last night I slept for 7 hours and 22 minutes for a sleep score of 77.
I think this may be the last day of my cold.
I took a Didi to Unicentro mall arriving early enough to
walk around it once.
We had our usual breakfast in Parmessano and I brought
him up-to-date on Glenn and Vicky. ☹
I had the Black pieces in the first game and I blundered a piece
on my 14th move then another on my 18th move and
resigned.
I made a trip to the restroom and on my way back took a look
at a TV just in time to see Lionel Messi miss a penalty kick, and Argentina was
losing 2-0.
It was only 10am when we started the second game. He trapped
his queen on his 9th move and only got a bishop for it. It was only
10:30 when he said it was too early to resign so we played on and he finally
resigned on move 61.
It was now 1pm and while waiting for my Didi I observed people sitting in bean bag chairs in front of a large screen ready for the game that isn’t going to start for 90 more minutes. I tried taking a video but only got a first and last photo.
I saw this soccer ball outside the main entrance.
My Didi driver took all side roads and I arrived at Viva
Envigado by 2:15.
Sarku’s was full and my usual shortcut through the
food court was full of people waiting for the match to start.
FOOD COURT
And this is only half of it, there’s another half on the
other side of the screen.
I had the granola with fruits in Pergamino and ran
into Brit as I was leaving.
On the 2nd floor I made an ATM withdrawal and
finally got a mix of bills.
Downstairs I took a table in an empty Urbania as every one was either in the food court or atrium to see the Colombia vs Switzerland match. (There were 5 workers behind the counter, probably watching or listening to the game.)
I noticed this cleaning machine I hadn't seen before.
I left at 4:30 when the score was still 0-0 hoping
to get a taxi before the large crowds dispersed.
Standing in front of Starbucks, this is the atrium at
the 90th minute of the match.
I purchased a few groceries in Exito and returned to
the apt by taxi.
It took a few minutes to find the match on Medellin TV but
in the end, Colombia lost on penalty kicks. Teresa asked when Colombia plays
next and I told her in 4 years for the next World Cup. I don’t think she knew
it was now single elimination.
My eyes were very tired so I took a nap from 6 to 7pm.
It was a hot one today – maybe we’re going to have a summer
after all.
I watched some news then did some reading before going to
bed at 10:30.
