Last night I went to bed at 11pm, got up once during the night, again at 5am, took maybe an hour to fall back asleep, finally waking/getting up at 7:15.

Last night I didn’t play on Chess.com.

I want to thank my readers for their recent comments. Problem is that the Blogger interface was redesigned recently and I have yet to figure out how to reply to comments.

Teresa left for her walk at 9am.

I watched the first 20 minutes of the Today show then went for my walk. The first 30 minutes I followed my usual route. Then I switched it up a bit. The gas station had removed their Esso sign and were putting up a Primax sign. I headed east and I saw that the Alpha health store was open. I went as far east as possible (2 blocks) then turned south a block then headed west again. Aymará had their gate open and its obvious they are undergoing some internal remodeling. I was back at the apt by 10:25.

I had a 2-hour chess lesson from 2:30 to 4:30. Juan mentioned that he thought we would soon be under quarantine again. Probably not all of Colombia but those cities, like Medellin, that have recently experienced an increase in infections. Nothing official yet, we’ll have to wait and see.

 

We left the apt at 7:15 and took a taxi to barrio Mesa. We each had a patacon and small Coke for 26mil. We walked down the hill where we found a bakery open and Teresa bought a couple pastries and small Cokes for our security guards. We were back at the apt by 8:30.

 

President Trump’s planned visit to western Pa. next week canceled, according to local leaders.

Per Medellin Guru, as of this afternoon Colombia has a total of 877,683 ð 886,179 ð 894,300 cases with 27,495 deaths.  Medellin has 70,962 ð 71,902 ð 73,244 cases, an increase of 1,338 from October 8^th to 9^th. Envigado has a total of 4,567 cases, an increase of 120 from October 8^th to 9^th.

 

Joke of the day

An Illinois man left the snow-filled streets of Chicago for a vacation in Florida.

His wife was on a business trip and was planning to meet him there the next day.

When he reached his hotel he decided to send his wife a quick email.

Unfortunately, when typing her address, he missed one letter, and his note was directed instead to an elderly preacher’s wife whose husband had passed away only the day before.

When the grieving widow checked her email, she took one look at the screen, let out a piercing scream, and fell to the floor in a dead faint. 
 

At the sound, her family rushed into the room and saw this note on the screen of her tablet:
