Monday, January 11, 2021

Today is the holiday Epiphany, which is why we are in this lockdown, to keep Colombians from literally partying themselves to death (from Covid-19).

Last night I went to bed at 11pm, fell asleep quickly, woke up about 1:30, catnapped until I got up at 3:45, read a little, returned to bed at 5am, was awakened by Teresa closing the bedroom door at 7:30 and I got up. It rained on and off all night.

9 more days of this presidency. I hope to god the US can survive until then.

Jose texted that he’s available for chess tomorrow.

Teresa beat me in parcheesi today 4 games to 1.

I have a 7# dumbbell which I use each day for my arms and shoulders. Hopefully, I’ll soon be able to get out walking today.

I watched another couple episodes of The Last Kingdom.

Wow, a day without rain.

Dow Chemical, Marriott International, American Express, Blue Cross, Airbnb, Mastercard and Commerce Bank said they will not donate to lawmakers involved in the push to deny Biden the presidency.

Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf is stepping down from his post, days after criticizing President Donald Trump over the riot at the U.S.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Sunday the House will proceed with legislation to impeach President Donald Trump unless the vice president and Cabinet invoke constitutional authority to force him out, calling Trump a threat to democracy after the deadly assault on the Capitol.

House Democrats introduced a single article of impeachment charging President Trump with “incitement of insurrection” for his role encouraging the violent mob that stormed the Capitol last week.

Fox News: Don’t impeach Trump for the January 6 insurrection — you’ll just make his supporters angry again.

Impeachment won't be nearly as divisive as that insurrection they just attempted.
