Last night we went to bed at 10:15, fell asleep quickly, and woke/got up at 6:15.
We had breakfast in the same buffet close to the beach.
After, we found a cabana with chairs on the other side of
the restaurant. I’m staying in the shade but still tanning. I picked up towels
with our cards and we used them to claim our spot for today.
A guy came around selling boat trips and we listened to his
spiel for several options but declined in the end.
We had lunch in the buffet again.
This last one is ice cream (sometimes vanilla but often rum raisin) with a muffin.
Never a problem finding an empty table, more so here than
the buffet by the lobby.
Back to the beach until about 2pm when I returned to our
room.
More photos of the grounds:
By the pool I saw these guys cutting down palm tree branches.
I called the front desk and the muchacho returned within 5
minutes, changed the 4 AA Duracell batteries on the safe and tested it to make
sure it worked. I worked on this blog for about 90 minutes before returning to
the beach.
It rained very lightly for about 5 minutes, wouldn’t know it
was there except a few drops came into our shelter.
I finished reading Ali Hazelwood’s Check & Mate
on my Kindle. It was a nice read but many of the chess parts were a little
ridiculous.
We left at 5:30, exchanged our towels for our cards and it
was a short walk back to our room.
I got slightly burned on one shoulder so I’ll have to be
more careful tomorrow.
We had a 7:30 supper reservation at Tanuki the Teppanyaki restaurant. While waiting for the tram half a dozen 30-something girls arrived and were the very definition of rude Americans, very noisy and full of themselves and possibly drunk. At the restaurant after a short wait for our seats, they put on the usual show cooking on the large griddle in front of 8 of us.
The food wasn’t the best though the lady sitting on the
other side of me tipped two of the workers what looked like $20 each.
We walked around a bit and stumbled on a children’s party in
the theater, with young kids waving balloons and singing.
We returned to our room by tram and went to bed right away.
EL ARROYO SIGNS
Terry, thanks for the pictures and the video. Ugly Americans are not pleasant to run into, sorry you and your wife experienced that.
