Last night we went to bed at 10pm, took me maybe an hour to fall asleep, slept through the night, finally waking/getting up at 7am.
I was able to read my Kindle book last night so I guess it’s
permanently downloaded. (Which probably explains why I can see the titles of
the other books I’ve already read.) In the future I guess there’s no need to
borrow books for 2 weeks.
We left the apt at 9:30 and, believe it or not, we had
breakfast at Tiffany’s. $27.75+$5 tip.
From there it was an easy jump onto I-294 South to Brookfield
Zoo. Parking was $9 and another $49.90 for 2 Senior admissions.
We rested and rehydrated often, once having soft serve ice
cream cones. Teresa was amazed at how large the zoo was. I think we saw all the
main attractions except the elephants and monkeys. At one point we encountered a
mother with 2 children, a boy about 5 and girl about 7, the latter having an
obvious attitude problem. There was lots of crying and screaming but I never
understood what the girl was upset about. At different points, the girl 1)
refused to move, 2) ran in the opposite direction. Finally, her mother just scooped
her up and carried her out of the park using a fireman’s carry.
I now have 2 more tolls to pay after today.
We returned to the apt by 5:15 and Teresa was going to make
pasta but we didn’t have any salt. No, I didn’t feel like going out again just
to buy salt. Instead, I suggested we go out for Chinese food.
We left the apt at 7:30 and I took Teresa to Twin Dragon.
I thought I got a break with ordering in Spanish when I saw the Mexican busboy
but he didn’t speak English. I wanted to order my “usual” cashew chicken but
was told they discontinued that two weeks ago. ☹ I
ordered chicken with fried rice and hot tea and Teresa had shrimp with vegetables
and white rice and a diet Coke. The check came to almost $40 and I added a $5 tip.
We ate half our food and got the other half to go – most likely will be our
lunch or supper tomorrow.
I drove us right back to the apt but took a different downtown
Des Plaines street to see if there were any changes.
Forty-five minutes before we went to bed I asked ChatGPT
about the best time to take Zopiclona. I learned, contrary to what I’ve been
doing, it’s best to take it just before going to sleep with no reading after.
So, read, take my Zopiclona, then go straight to bed.
FUNNY
