Last night we went to bed at 11:30pm, I slept through the night, finally waking/getting up at 7am.
Teresa finally got to talk to her mother via Whatsapp and
the Airbnb’s Wi-Fi.
Today we tried a new place for breakfast, First Watch on Mannheim Rd.
Teresa had avocado toast which she loved (the word she used
was “exquisite”) and I had a Belgian waffle with maple syrup and a berry compote.
Nice place!
For the first time I used my cellphone at our table to pay
our check of $35.25 and I left a tip of 18% for a total of $41.60. How does the
restaurant know I paid and I’m not just walking out the door?
We returned to the apt and I did a small load of knit
shirts, being careful with the dryer.
For Teresa, I spent some significant time on my laptop
trying to find instructions for putting clasps on bracelets.
Teresa finally got hungry about 2:30 and requested Chinese
food. I checked my favorite Chinese place but they are closed Tuesdays. 😊
I took her 6 minutes away to Mr. Beef & Pizza of
Mt. Prospect where I ordered a large wet Italian Beef for me and a small dry
(with juice on the side) Italian beef for Teresa and a small Coke for each of
us for $26.96 (no tip 😊).
She liked her sandwich and ate all of it; I should have gotten only a medium for
myself but I ate all of it. Delicious! I hope it won’t be 2 years before I have
another.
We stopped in Walmart and purchased a few things.
We stopped in a Baskin-Robbins where we each had a
scoop of ice cream for a total of about $12.
I asked her if she was ready for another surprise and I took
her to Mountain View Adventure Center where we played a round of
miniature golf for $18 (I got a Des Plaines resident discount of $2).
She saw her first bunny rabbit on the course. Her form needs
a little work, but with only one exception she kept her ball in-bounds. (I
played like shite but won 63-90.) Teresa wanted to play again but we had a few
raindrops on the last hole which turned into a light drizzle returning to the
apt.
Well, I think I set up Illinois Tollway’s Pay by Plate.
We’ll see if I get a confirmation email.
Google says I’ve used 15.12 GB of 15GB and they want me to
clean up space or purchase more. I’m back to deleting emails, this time in
gmail. Of course, you can only delete them 32 at a time. Oh, I finally found
the Delete All button. 😊
FUNNY
