Last night we went to bed at 10pm, got up once at 4:30, finally waking/getting up at 6:30.
We met Jeannie & Jacob for breakfast at 9am in Country
Kitchen in Highland Park. I gifted them a bag of coffee from El Retiro.
Teresa had her avocado toast and I a pecan waffle and they picked up the check.
(Teresa didn’t care for the place because they covered her toast with arugula
and the waitress never returned to refill our coffees. And she’s right.) They
gave us a short walking tour of downtown. We all went to our car and drove
about 4 blocks to their house. It’s on the edge of a large park with paved
paths and mature trees. We walked through the park which also had 3 children’s
play areas and 2 baseball diamonds. We got a quick tour of their house. They
loaned us 2 portable chairs and a table to use at Ravinia. I’m thinking of
going there Tuesday night.
Jeannie is sponsoring a blood drive the afternoon of July 9th
at Saint Peter & Paul church. I told her about the age 65 limit but now I
think that’s just a Colombian rule.
Teresa and I drove back downtown and stopped in Terry’s
Toffee and shared a small coconut gelato.
We returned to Des Plaines and stopped in Shop n Save
where I bought a container of salt and Saturday’s Sun-Times.
Teresa warmed up our leftovers from yesterday for lunch. She
made pasta for us to have for supper tonight.
Now she’s extolling the virtues of Comet that she’s
using to clean all the pots and pans.
We left at 6:30 and went to a different Michael’s
looking for glue for Teresa’s bracelet. Unlike the other location she found
lots of jewelry tools and bought a set along with a couple containers of super
glue. A Mexican salesgirl was a big help in answering Terresa’s questions. We
bought $44.06 in jewelry tools and super glue and returned to the apt.
Teresa warmed up the spaghetti she made and we had it for
supper.
Uh-oh, today’s crossword puzzle is harder than the one from
the other day. I guess I’ve lost my touch. ☹
Just before bedtime I took my Zopiclona and the other half
of the Diphenhydramine.
FUNNY
