Last night I went to bed at 10pm, fell asleep quickly, waking at 5:30 and getting up at 6am. I think I slept through the night again.
At 6:30 two semis arrived outside Ara (I know when
they arrive because of the loud beeping as they back up). I was curious to see if they were going to be
leaving products or taking products. When they finally opened the gate, I saw
products so I guess Ara isn’t going out of business since they’re
replenishing their stock. (Later, my brother sent me a screen print of Ara’s
sign noting that it was an anniversary sale.)
At 7:15 I noticed a slight drizzle, hope it stops before I
leave for breakfast.
Teresa came to me with a change of plans. I’ll have
breakfast with Glenn then we’ll go to Arkadia or El Tesoro so she can exchange
a blouse at H&M.
I took a short nap from just after 8am until 8:30.
I left the apt just after 8:30 and walked (in my shorts
& sleeveless t-shirt on a cool morning) to Sao Paolo Plaza. I stopped at Carulla’s
pharmacy and bought a 30-pack of Zopiclona and 10-pack of Loperamida for our
trip. I joined Glenn with Bianca in Olivenza right at 9am.
We discussed substacks, TACO Trump, ChatGPT, Amazon Prime
and more. I told him I’d try to get him is onion bagels from H&H Bagels
but the Chicago location still hasn’t opened. I had calentao with scrambled eggs
and two lattes.
We left at 11am and I walked back to the apt. I stopped in our
garage storage area and picked up the glue for our bathroom faucet.
I won a game in 57 moves vs chesswiz98 raising my rating to
1553.
Around 2pm we discussed going to Arkadia mall but it was
very overcast and felt like rain. We did have a shower but it didn’t last long.
Finally, about 3:15 we took a Didi to Arkadia mall for 12,100 pesos. The place
was jam packed, certainly not what Teresa expected. She returned something in H&M
then we went up to the 4th floor but there was a line outside Pergamino
and they had no seats available. We found a table outside Percimon and
while Teresa saved two seats I bought us frozen yogurts with the fixings. After
we consumed them we went down a level and Teresa checked out things in Miniso.
We went down to Santa Leña and were pleasantly surprised there were lots
of tables available. (Not a good sign for their staying in business.) We sat
down and I ordered a latte and Teresa ordered a slice of cheesecake to share.
I contacted my daughter and she’s going to join us for
dinner Friday night, June 20th at L. Woods in Lincolnwood. I already
had the reservation I just had to add an additional person.
We left at 6:15 and returned to the apt (in heavy traffic)
by Didi for 14,300 pesos. (First time I’ve been in a car with a fire
extinguisher attached to the car frame next to the windshield.)
We went next door to Ara and bought a few groceries,
glad that the craziness is over.
I watched another episode of Dept. Q then read my
Kindle book to get ready for sleep.
FUNNY
