Last night I went to bed at 10:30, fell asleep quickly, got up 3 times the latest 5am, then catnapped until finally waking/getting up at 6:20.
I left the apt just before 8am and walked to Viva Envigado.
On the way I tested another car coming towards me in the crosswalk and he
missed me by an inch. I have to stop doing that. I went upstairs and made a
withdrawal from an ATM and by the time I returned downstairs Jose was waiting
for me. I had my usual complete breakfast and he had his usual coffee and a
pastry.
At 9am we went upstairs where we had our choice of
tables in the food court. I had the Black pieces in the first game and I lost
the game in the first 4 moves resigning on the 26th move. It was
still early so we started the second game stopping for lunch at noon. I had the
frijoles with rice and he made a trip to the ATM then bought an ice cream cone.
At one point we heard a loud boom and the lights went out. With the glass roof it
wasn’t like we were in the dark but the lights came back on soon anyway. He
made an error late in the game and resigned on the 60th move.
It was only 2:30 when he left and I went downstairs
for coffee. Some of the escalators weren’t working and some of the stores had
no lights. Todo Fresa had no electricity so I went around the corner to Dunkin
Donuts who did. I had a small coffee with a cinnamon roll.
I left about 4pm and took a taxi back to the apt.
For dinner we ordered Frisby fried chicken delivered
by Rappi.
Several time this week I reminded Teresa to call and
make a reservation for Saturday at Tony Roma’s in the Dann Carlton.
Tonight she told me she will have to get her hair and nails done and it will be
crowded at the beauty parlor so she wants to wait a week and celebrate
International Women’s Day on the following Saturday the 13th.
I finished reading Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park
on my Nook.

Joke of
the day
Two men were
sitting next to each other at a bar.
After a
while, one guy looks at the other and says, "I can't help but think, from
listening to you, that you're from Ireland."
The other guy responds proudly, "Yes, that I am!"
The first guy says, "So am I! And where about from Ireland might you
be?"
The other
guy answers, "I'm from Dublin, I am."
The first guy responds, "Sure and begorrah, and so am I! And what street did
you live on in Dublin?"
The other guy says, "A lovely little area it was, I lived on McCleary Street
in the old central part of town."
The first guy says, "Faith & it's a small world, so did I! And to what
school would you have been going?"
The other guy answers, "Well now, I went to St. Mary's of course."
The first guy gets really excited, and says, "And so did I. Tell me, what
year did you graduate?"
The other guy answers, "Well, now, I graduated in
1964." The first guy exclaims, "The Good Lord must be smiling down upon
us! I can hardly believe our good luck at winding up in the same bar tonight. Can
you believe it, I graduated from St. Mary's in 1964 my own self."
About this time, another guy walks into the bar,
sits down, and orders a beer.
The bartender walks over shaking his head &
mutters, "It's going to be a long night
tonight, the Murphy twins are drunk again."
