Last night I took a Zopiclona and went to bed at 10:30 (it had just started raining), got up once during the night, finally waking up at 7:30 and getting up at 8. I don’t think the rain lasted very long last night.
Today is a holiday - Indepencia de Cartagena.
Teresa told me she’s going shopping in San Diego mall
with a girlfriend so I’ll be on my own for lunch.
I left the apt at 9:30 for my walk. (I texted Marcos
earlier to join me but he didn’t reply in time.) I went my usual route of back
streets then crossed Avenida Poblado (Ciclovia going on) to the gym. The signs I
saw last night were advertising their 69,900 monthly fee and the other was about
their coronavirus preparedness. I walked the back streets of La Buena Mesa. No
restaurants open but I don’t know if that is because its too early for lunch or
because they are closed because of the holiday.
Teresa left the apt at 12:30 to meet her friend and I left
a couple minutes later. At the mall I recycled a plastic bottle then went to Mundoverde
to try one of their belgium waffles. I went through all the check-in procedures
only to find out that they don’t have waffles today. I went to Sarku’s
where I had their chicken teriyaki and a coconut lemonade for 25mil. I went
down to Todo Fresa where I had a café con leche. I left just before 4pm
and found it drizzling lightly outside. I got in a short line and soon was in a
taxi back to the apt.
Teresa returned about 5pm and went immediately for a
nap.
About 6:45 Teresa surprised me again wanting to order
from McDonald’s. I ordered her usual chicken sandwich combo but this
time for myself I switched from a Quarter Pounder to a Big Mac combo. I also
didn’t include a tip and gave it to the driver in person. (That would be a 5mil
tip in addition to his 4mil delivery charge.) I gifted an order of fries and a
Coke to the porteros.
On the evening news we saw some of the damage done to
San Andres by Hurricane Iota but if I understood correctly Providencia Island
was 98% destroyed. So sad!
I downloaded Mozilla’s Thunderbird email service then did
a test run emailing myself a few games using the Output command from ChessBase15.
I forwarded them to Juan Castro to tell me if it worked.
I watched the Chicago Bears lose to the Minnesota Vikings
19-13 on Monday Night Football.

written about the US’s inept response to this pandemic.)
Per
Medellin Guru, as of this afternoon Colombia has a total of 1,191,004 ð 1,198,746 ð 1,205,217 cases with 34,223 deaths. Medellin has

New infections appear to have plateaued again.
Joke of
the day
A
woman and a baby were in the doctor's examining room,
waiting
for the doctor to come in for the baby's first exam.
The
doctor arrived, and examined the baby, checked his weight, and being a little
concerned, asked if the baby was breast-fed or bottle-fed.
'Breast-fed,'
she replied.
'Well,
strip down to your waist,' the doctor ordered.
She
did. He pinched her nipples, pressed, kneaded, and rubbed both breasts for a
while in a very professional and detailed examination.
Motioning
to her to get dressed, the doctor said,
'No
wonder this baby is underweight. You don't have any milk.'
'I
know,' she said, 'I'm his Grandma, but I'm glad I came.'
