Happy Veterans Day!
Last night I took a
Zopiclona and went to bed at 10:30, got up once at 3:30, finally waking/getting
up at 6:30.
My internet speed is
still 10Mbps.
I left the apt at 9:30 and walked to
the mall. By the time I made an ATM withdrawal, recycled a Coke bottle, and
arrived at Claro it was open. I paid our cellphone bills for the October
then went downstairs to Todo Fresa where I had a café con leche (they
call it a latte). I left at 11:15 and returned to the apt.
I left again at 12:20 and arrived at Otra
Parte at 12:30. James and Glenn were already there. We had a nice lunch – I
tried their chicken wrap which was very good. At one point Glenn received a
call and his cellphone ring was the sonar “ping” that would be heard by submarines
in World War II. Lol. My total with a mango juice was about 44 mil ($12). From
there we walked to Parva for coffee. Teresa called me to remind me that she
will be covering for Wilson starting at 3pm. We all split about 3:30 – Glenn
walked to his apt, James walked to Viva Envigado for the metro and I back to
the apt.
Still 10Mbps wifi speed. I told Teresa
when she returned and we agreed that if it isn’t fixed by Monday we’ll make
another early morning trip to Tigo/Une.
About 4:15 I noticed it was raining.
I received an email from Home
Center and Teresa informed me that our loveseat is scheduled for delivery
on Friday.
I finished reading Michael Crichton’s paperback
A Case of Need.
Currently, Biden leads
by about 146,000 votes in Michigan, 48,000 votes in Pennsylvania, 36,000 votes
in Nevada, 20,000 votes in Wisconsin, 14,000 votes in Georgia, and 12,000 votes
in Arizona. (All of these states, except Georgia and Arizona, have been called
for Biden by every major election analyst desk.)
A Pennsylvania postal
worker has recanted claims that supervisors attempted to backdate ballots
mailed after the election, according to congressional aides. The false
allegations were cited by the
Trump campaign and top Republicans as examples of voter fraud impacting the
results of the presidential election.
Jonathan Goldstein, an
attorney representing President Donald Trump's reelection campaign, told a Pennsylvania judge that he was
not aware of fraudulent ballot counting procedures in the state's Montgomery
County during a Tuesday appearance in court.
Donald Trump stepped out of the White
House for the first time in six days on Wednesday as Americans strained to
interpret a flurry of sudden personnel changes inside the administration,
including at the Pentagon, while top Republicans refused to admit that Joe
Biden had won the presidency.
Instead of ushering in a becalmed moment
of transition, the US election eight days ago has given way to escalating concerns
over the president’s shocking visible effort to cling to power – and over top
Republicans’ failure to dispute the president’s wild claims of election fraud.
The proportion of
Biden’s victory in the popular vote crept up to 50.8% on Wednesday, the highest
percentage for a challenger since Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1932. Judges in
six states had thrown out at least 13 lawsuits brought by the Trump campaign to
challenge the vote while agreeing to hear zero. There is every indication that
Biden will be inaugurated on 20 January.
In the days and weeks
leading up to Election Day, President Donald Trump claimed that the "fake news media" chose to focus on Covid-19 to damage his
campaign, predicting that once November 4th arrived, Americans would not hear
about the virus anymore, however, in the seven days since that date, infections
and hospitalizations have spiked to unseen levels, shattering previous records.
Texas
on Wednesday became the first state with more than 1 million confirmed COVID-19
cases.
The
US has 10,124,704 ð 10,260,649 ð 10,452,880 coronavirus cases
with 238,200+ ð 239,500+ ð 241,400+ deaths.
Per
Medellin Guru, as of this afternoon Colombia has a total of 1,149,063 ð 1,156,675 ð 1,165,326 cases with 33,312 deaths. Medellin has
106,516 ð 107,359 ð 108,239 cases, an increase of 878 from November 10th
to 11th. Envigado has a total
of 8,574 cases, an increase of 93 from November 10th to 11th.
New infections appear to have plateaued.
Joke of
the day
During
a patient's 2-week follow-up appointment with his cardiologist, he informed me,
his doctor, that he was having trouble with one of his medications.
'Which
one?’ I asked.
'The
patch.'
'The
Nurse told me to put on a new one every six hours
and
now I'm running out of places to put it!'
I
had him quickly undress and discovered what I hoped I wouldn't see.
Yes,
the man had over fifty patches on his body!
Now,
the instructions include removal of the old patch before applying a new one.
I'm so accustomed to the ping I didn't notice it. I swiped it from the fabulous TV series, "Lost."
