Sunday, November 8, 2020

Last night I took a Zopiclona and went to bed at 10:30, got up once at 2:45am, finally waking/getting up at 6:30.

I left the apt at 8am and soon caught an Envigado bus to Ciudad de Rio. I got off at the museum of modern art and walked around the back to Ganso y Castor. Surprisingly, Glenn (with Bianca) was already there. He said he got there at 8am. James arrived a couple minutes later. They had their eggs and I had the Aҫai bowl with yogurt, fruit and granola. We each had a couple coffees. I informed them about the apparent new requirement that the government will be charging 5% of our SS income for health insurance. I understand they enforce it at the time you renew your visa. James informed us his visitor stamp extension (due to the coronavirus) has finished and he will have to leave Colombia by the end of November. He thinks he will probably visit Peru for a month and return in January. We made informal plans to meet at Otra Parte for lunch some upcoming day.

We left about 10:30 and I took a bus to Viva Envigado where I picked up a few things at Exito and returned to the apt by 11:15.

For lunch we ordered fried chicken from Frisby.

I watched the Chicago Bears lose to the Tennessee Titans 24-17.

More than 800,000 people with phone numbers tied to six presidential swing states have been targeted with automated phone calls on Tuesday suggesting they remain at home on Election Day, a tactic that has alarmed voters and has drawn the attention of the FBI, documents and interviews show.

A Canadian man blasted President Donald Trump’s supporters who have threatened to move to his country after a stinging defeat by President-elect Joe Biden.

In a TikTok video, the man pointed out that a number of conservative U.S. citizens have vowed to move to Canada because they are disgusted by Trump’s apparent loss in the 2020 election.

“I’ve seen more than a few posts by people who are not happy about the results of the election and want to move to Canada,” the man explained. “Trump supporters moving to Canada, no! Get that out of your head. We don’t want you here. We don’t want your COVID here. We don’t want your ideals here. We don’t want anyone like that here.”

“We’re practically socialists up here!” he exclaimed. “We have socialized medicine. Weed is legal everywhere. You can get an abortion for free anywhere. And we all wear masks! Like, we take this pandemic seriously.”

“So stay the fuck away from Canada,” the man concluded.

Joke of the day

A man comes into the ER and yells . . .'My wife's going to have her baby in the cab.'

I grabbed my stuff, rushed out to the cab, lifted the lady's dress and began to take off her underwear.

Suddenly I noticed that there were several cabs - - - and I was in the wrong one.
