Last night I took a Zopiclona and went to bed at 10:30pm, got up once at 5:15, finally waking/getting up at 7am.
Teresa left a few minutes
before 8am for an exercise class at the Smartfit in Parque Envigado.
Teresa called me at 10:15
and asked me to meet her in the guardhouse. I did and we took a taxi to Pricesmart.
She said she was hungry and wanted to eat before we pick up our groceries but
she was tired of the same old thing in the Pricesmart cafeteria so we went
across the street to the Arkadia mall. We went up to the food court and
a security guard informed us that the restaurants open at noon. Problem was
that it was only 11am. Teresa noticed a lady getting ready to open up Subway
and she allowed us to place an order. I was a little surprised that we got sodas
from their dispenser.
Teresa went to the
restroom and when she returned she told me they are nicer than the ones in Viva
Envigado. I made a trip and the mens’ had several rooms with twists and turns. I
also used for the first time a new Dyson combination faucet, soap
dispenser and hand dryer over the sink.
We walked across the
street to Pricesmart where we bought $215 worth of groceries and we were
back at the apt by 2pm.
I watched Totally
Under Control (7.6) on Netflix, a documentary about how the US government
botched the response to the coronavirus pandemic. Sad!
I watched more episodes
of the Bosch series.
I didn’t notice it was
raining until about 6:45 when Direct TV went out. I was watching CNN and wifi
was still working so I just switched to CNN on Medellin TV. After 7pm Teresa
wanted an update on Colombia’s coronavirus situation so I switched to her news
channel and it was almost all about the US election. Lol.
I finally gave up, with
no clear decision for president, and went to bed at 11pm.
The
United States will likely see more than 1,000 Covid-19 deaths per day for a
“sustained period of time,” former FDA Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb told
CNBC on Tuesday. Gottlieb said the next couple of months could prove to be “the
densest phase of the pandemic.” The average number of currently hospitalized
Covid-19 patients is up by at least 5% in 40 states and the District of
Columbia, according to a CNBC analysis of data from the Covid Tracking Project.
More than
61,000 children in the U.S. were diagnosed with Covid-19 last week — more than
in any other week during the pandemic, the American Academy of Pediatrics and
the Children's Hospital Association reported Monday.
In all,
853,635 children have been diagnosed with the virus this year, representing
11.1 percent of all U.S. cases. The percentage of pediatric cases has risen
steadily since mid-April, when children accounted for just 2 percent of
Covid-19 cases in the country.
"This is a stark reminder of the impact this pandemic is
having on everyone — including our children and adolescents," Dr. Sally
Goza, president of the American Academy of Pediatrics, said in a news release. The organization updates the number of children with
Covid-19 weekly, using state health department data.

Joke of
the day
90-year-old George went for his annual physical.
All of his tests came back with normal results. Dr. Darns said, "George,
everything looks great physically. How are you doing mentally and emotionally?
Are you at peace with yourself, and do you have a good relationship with your
God?"
George replied, "God and me are tight. He
knows I have poor eyesight, so he's fixed it so that when I get up in the
middle of the night to go to the bathroom (poof!) the light goes on when I pee,
and then (poof!) the light goes off when I'm done."
"Wow," commented Dr. Darnes,
"that's incredible!"
A little later in the day Dr. Darnes called
George's wife.
"Thelma," he said, "George is just
fine. Physically he's great. But I had to call because I'm in awe of his
relationship with God. Is it true that he gets up during the night and (poof!)
the light goes on in the bathroom, and then (poof!) the light goes
off?"
Thelma exclaimed, "That old fool! He's been peeing in the refrigerator again!"
