Last night I took a Zopiclona and went to bed at 10:30, got up once during the night, again at 5:45, finally gave up getting back to sleep and I got up at 6:15.
I think we had a light
drizzle throughout the night but now it’s stopped.
My internet speed is
still 10Mbps. I think the plan is for us to stop at the Tigo/Une office
next Monday morning. (Oops, Monday is a holiday so maybe Wednesday.)
We left the apt at 10:30 and
took a taxi the the Sabaneta pharmacy where Teresa picks up her monthly
medicine. I wasn’t allowed inside so I sat on the floor outside. She came out
20 minutes later and told me they don’t have her medicine.
We took a taxi to Mayorca
mall where she did some window shopping until about noon when we went up to J&C
Delicias for lunch. I had their spaghetti with meat sauce and the total
bill came to 68mil (about $19). I received a text message from Nobraskja that I
have mail to be delivered. I asked her to bring it by later in the afternoon.
Teresa did a little more shopping then we returned to the apt by 1:30 by taxi.
Teresa beat me in parcheesi
today 3 games to 2.
Teresa is going to the
finca tomorrow, just for the day, to oversee some work being done there.
It’s not just the coronavirus
that challenges life here in Colombia. I see on the news many towns being
flooded, yesterday I understand it was Cartagena due to Hurricane Iota.
With the latest email
response from NFL GamePass I was finally able to log in to their app on
my smart TV and see something. No games going on now so I’ll confirm that tomorrow.
My mail never arrived
today.
Internet speed is still
10Mbps.
Only one county in the United States still has zero reported
cases of COVID-19 in mid-November, after more than eight months of the pandemic.
Loving County, Texas. With a population of 169 people, according to the most
recent U.S. Census numbers, Loving County, Texas, is the lone municipality
never to record a single positive case of coronavirus. Loving County is the
second-least populous in the U.S., behind Hawaii's Kalawao County, but the
least populated in the lower 48 states.
The
U.S. added more than 184,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Friday, the fourth day
in a row that the country has set a record for daily
infections, according to data from
the Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center.
It has been about four weeks since
the U.S. overtook India to see the most daily cases of any country in the
world. While India's case numbers spiked in September, they have largely been
on a downward path since then. But cases in the U.S. continue to surge. For the
first time, the country's seven-day moving average of new cases has surpassed
150,000.
America
is also the world leader in coronavirus fatalities, with over 244,000 COVID-19
related deaths. More than 1,400 people died from the virus in
the U.S. on Friday — the most deaths that
day of any country.
The
US has 10,626,581 ð 10,728,013 ð 10,818,611 coronavirus cases
with 242,700+ ð 243,300+ ð 244,200+ deaths.
Per
Medellin Guru, as of this afternoon Colombia has a total of 1,174,012 ð 1,182,697 ð 1,191,004 cases with 33,829 deaths. Medellin has
109,054 ð 109,989 ð 110,913 cases, an increase of 924 from November 13th
to 14th. Envigado has a total
of 8,866 cases, an increase of 86 from November 13th to 14th.
New infections appear to be on the decline again.
Joke of
the day
A
nurse was on duty in the Emergency Room when a young woman with purple hair
styled into a punk rocker Mohawk, sporting a variety of tattoos, and wearing
strange clothing, entered. It was quickly determined that the patient had acute
appendicitis, so she was scheduled for immediate surgery.
When
she was completely disrobed on the operating table,
the
staff noticed that her pubic hair had been dyed green
and
above it was a Tattoo that read . . . 'Keep off the grass.'
Once
the surgery was completed, the surgeon wrote a short note on the patient's
dressing, which said, 'Sorry . . . Had to mow the lawn.'
