Last night I went to bed at 10pm, fell asleep quickly, got up once about 4am, had trouble falling back asleep, finally gave up and got up at 6:45am. I went back to bed at 7:30 and slept until 9am.
Today is a holiday –
Sagrado corazón (sacred heart).
At 10:30 I walked to
the mall where I recycled a plastic bottle then looked for a couple hangers for
my shorts in Home Center. What they had was a little fancier than what I
wanted and had purchased before so I passed. I paid my cellphone bill in Claro
and tried to make an ATM withdrawal but the machine said it was empty. In Todo
Fresa I spent about 30 minutes planning my next move against eschneiderag9,
rated 1597. I should be able to checkmate him, and I don’t want to screw up this
opportunity.
I returned to the apt
by taxi.
Teresa is eager to get
out of the house, so she arranged for us to meet Esmeralda and Alejandro for
ice cream in Arkadia mall.
I’m seeing a lot of
advertisements on Direct TV that Cine Colombia is reopening
tomorrow.
Troyclough resigned our
game increasing my rating to an all-time high of 1543. 1550 here I come! (I’ve
got two games in progress and I should win them both.)
Michael blundered his
Queen and resigned increasing my rating to 1544. My next win should put me over
1550 for the first time.
At 2:30 I heard thunder
and, even though it isn’t currently raining, I noticed the street was wet.
Eschneiderag9 resigned
our game (I was 2 moves from checkmating him) and my rating is now1553. Woo
hoo!
At 4:45 I noticed it
was raining but it didn’t last long.
I beat Teresa in
parcheesi today 5 games to 0.
I made arrangements
with Jose to meet for chess tomorrow.
We (actually Laura)
ordered from Chiclayo again. Nope. Laura called back a minute later to report
it’s closed. Well it is a holiday.
We had an intermittent
drizzle in the evening.
